3.2. Choosing Installation Type
Consider your desk thickness and whether you have a pre-drilled grommet hole.

Figure 3.2: Two primary installation methods: C-Clamp and Grommet Mount.
- C-Clamp: Fits desktops 0.39" - 4.53" (10-115mm) thick.
- Grommet Mount: Fits desktops 0.39" - 3.15" (10-80mm) thick with a bolt-through hole 0.39" - 2.36" (10-60mm) in diameter.
3.3. Step-by-Step Installation Guide
For a visual guide, please refer to the official installation video below.
Video 3.1: Official MOUNTUP Monitor Mount Installation Guide (MU0005). This video demonstrates the complete assembly process for both C-clamp and grommet installations, including attaching the arms and monitors.
- Attach Base to Desk:
- C-Clamp: Secure the base to the edge of your desk using the C-clamp. Ensure it is tightened firmly to prevent wobbling.
- Grommet Mount: If using a grommet hole, detach the bracket from the C-clamp. Insert the main bolt through the grommet hole and secure it from underneath the desk with the bracket and nut.
- Install Lower Arm: Slide the lower arm onto the base. Ensure the side with the 'Base' label is installed correctly. Tighten the screw on the lower arm, but do not overtighten.
- Install Upper Arm: Attach the upper arm to the lower arm. Again, tighten the screw, being careful not to strip it.
- Attach VESA Plate to Monitor: Screw the VESA plate onto the back of your monitors. Leave a small space (0.12-0.2 inches) between the screw head and the monitor back for easy hanging.
- Hang Monitor: Carefully hang your monitors onto the VESA plate on the arms. Once hung, tighten all four screws on the VESA plate to secure the monitor.
- Cable Management: Route your monitor cables through the integrated cable management channels on the arms for a clean and organized workspace.
4. Operating the Monitor Stand
The pneumatic arms allow for smooth and flexible adjustments to achieve optimal viewing angles and ergonomic posture.
4.1. Tension Adjustment
The pneumatic arms require tension adjustment based on your monitor's weight to ensure it stays in place. Use the provided Allen key to adjust the tension screw located on the arm.

Figure 4.1: Adjusting the pneumatic arm tension. Turn clockwise (+) to increase tension for heavier monitors (monitor drops down). Turn counter-clockwise (-) to reduce tension for lighter monitors (monitor raises up). Keep the arm in a horizontal position during adjustment.
- Monitor drops down: Turn clockwise (+) to increase tension.
- Monitor raises up: Turn counter-clockwise (-) to reduce tension.
4.2. Full Motion Flexibility
Customize your viewing experience with a wide range of motion.

Figure 4.2: The monitor arms offer extensive flexibility for optimal positioning.
- Tilt: Adjust the monitor angle from +90° to -45° to reduce glare and optimize viewing.
- Swivel: Swivel the monitor 180° left or right to share your screen or adjust for different tasks.
- Rotation: Rotate the monitor 360° (from portrait to landscape orientation) for various applications.
- Height Adjustment: The arm offers a 9.4'' (240mm) height adjustment range.
- Arm Extension: Extend the arm up to 19.9'' (505mm) for optimal viewing distance.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your monitor stand.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the monitor stand with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Check Connections: Periodically check all screws and bolts to ensure they are securely tightened. Re-tighten if necessary.
- Tension Check: If monitors begin to sag or become difficult to adjust, re-adjust the pneumatic arm tension as described in Section 4.1.
