7. Calibration

The ThermoPro TP15H thermometer with its probe immersed in a glass of ice water, illustrating the calibration process for maintaining accuracy.
The TP15H comes pre-calibrated from the factory. However, over time and with extensive use, recalibration may be necessary to maintain accuracy. You can calibrate the thermometer using an ice-water bath.
- Fill a large glass with crushed ice and top it off with cold water. Stir the mixture well.
- Insert the thermometer probe into the ice water, ensuring the tip is fully submerged but not touching the bottom or sides of the glass.
- Wait for the temperature reading to stabilize. It should read 32°F (0°C).
- If the reading is not 32°F (0°C), press and hold the LOCK/CAL button for 3 seconds until “CAL” flashes on the display.
- While “CAL” is flashing, press the LOCK/CAL button again to confirm calibration. The display will return to the current temperature, now calibrated to 32°F (0°C).
Note: If the thermometer is more than ±5°F (±3°C) off from 32°F (0°C) in the ice bath, it may indicate a significant issue, and contacting customer support is recommended.
