2. Safety Instructions

General Power Tool Safety Warnings

  • Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
  • Electrical Safety: Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
  • Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection. Use safety glasses, goggles, or a face shield. Wear hearing protection when operating the tool for extended periods. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.
  • Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
  • Battery Tool Use and Care: Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.

4.2 Installing/Removing Drill Bits or Screwdriver Bits

  1. Ensure the drill is switched off and the forward/reverse switch is in the center (locked) position.
  2. Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws.
  3. Insert the desired drill bit or screwdriver bit into the chuck. Ensure it is seated firmly.
  4. Rotate the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws securely around the bit.
  5. To remove, rotate the chuck counter-clockwise and pull the bit out.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off and Speed Control

  • Power On/Off: Press the trigger switch to turn the drill on. Release the trigger to turn it off.
  • Variable Speed: The trigger switch provides variable speed control. Pressing the trigger further increases the speed.
  • 2-Speed Gearbox: Use the speed selector switch located on top of the drill to choose between two speed ranges:
    • Low Speed (LO: 0-550 RPM): For screwdriving and drilling large diameter holes.
    • High Speed (HI: 0-1550 RPM): For drilling small diameter holes and faster drilling.

Figure 4: Drill features overview. Includes LED work light for improved visibility, battery charge indicator, forward/reverse button for easy bit changes, 2-speed selector (LO: 0-550 RPM, HI: 0-1550 RPM), and variable speed trigger for precise control.

5.2 Forward/Reverse Control

The forward/reverse switch is located above the trigger. Push it to the left for forward rotation (screwing in/drilling) and to the right for reverse rotation (removing screws/bits). Position it in the center to lock the trigger and prevent accidental startup.

5.3 Torque Adjustment (Clutch Settings)

The torque adjustment ring allows you to select the appropriate torque setting for your task. This prevents overtightening screws and damaging materials or screw heads. The drill features 18 torque settings plus 3 drilling functions (drill, impact drill, screwdriver).

  • Settings 1-5 (Screw): For driving small screws into soft materials.
  • Settings 6-10 (Wood): For driving medium screws into wood.
  • Settings 11-18 (Ceramic/Wall/Metal): For driving larger screws into harder materials or for drilling.
  • Drill Symbol: For general drilling without torque limitation.
  • Impact Drill Symbol: For drilling into masonry or concrete.
  • Screwdriver Symbol: For general screwdriving tasks.

Tip: When lifting or tightening screws, use the low-speed setting and choose a torque gear between 1-5. If the torque is too strong, the screw may be damaged.

Figure 5: Torque adjustment guide. The drill features 18+1 adjustable clutch settings. Lower settings (1-5) are for screws, mid-range (6-10) for wood, and higher settings (11-18) for ceramic, walls, or metal.

5.4 LED Work Light

The integrated LED work light illuminates the work area when the trigger is pressed, improving visibility in dimly lit spaces.
