Setup

Unboxing

Carefully remove your watch from its packaging. Ensure all protective films are removed from the watch case and crystal before use.

Initial Winding

Your Citizen NP1023-17L is an automatic mechanical watch. It is powered by the motion of your wrist. If the watch has stopped or is running low on power, it needs to be manually wound to initiate operation.

  1. Unscrew the crown (if it's a screw-down crown) by turning it counter-clockwise.
  2. Pull the crown out to the first position (for winding, not setting time).
  3. Turn the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will build up a sufficient power reserve to start the watch.
  4. Push the crown back in and screw it down clockwise until it is secure (if applicable) to ensure water resistance.

The watch will then continue to wind itself through your daily wrist movements.

Setting the Time

  1. Unscrew the crown (if applicable) and pull it out to the second position (farthest out). The second hand will stop.
  2. Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the desired time.
  3. Once the time is set, push the crown back into the normal position and screw it down securely (if applicable).

Adjusting the Leather Strap

The watch comes with a blue leather strap and a buckle closure. Adjust the strap by inserting the pin into the appropriate hole for a comfortable and secure fit on your wrist. Ensure the watch is not too tight or too loose.

  • Leather Strap: Avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and harsh chemicals. Clean the leather strap with a soft, dry cloth. If it gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally, away from direct heat.
