5. Operating Instructions
Once the unit is set up, you can begin cutting operations.
- Power On: Turn on the main power switch located on the rear of the unit. The 2.8-inch color LCD panel will illuminate.
- Parameter Adjustment: Use the single control knob on the front panel to navigate through the menu and adjust cutting parameters such as amperage. The unit automatically manages air pressure.
- 2T/4T Function:
- 2T (Two-Touch): Press and hold the torch trigger to initiate the arc. Release the trigger to stop the arc. This mode is suitable for short cuts.
- 4T (Four-Touch): Press and release the torch trigger to initiate the arc. The arc will continue until the trigger is pressed and released again. This mode is ideal for longer cuts, reducing hand fatigue.
- Cutting Process:
- Ensure proper eye and body protection is worn.
- Position the torch nozzle close to the workpiece.
- Activate the torch trigger (2T or 4T mode).
- Move the torch steadily along the desired cut line. Maintain a consistent standoff distance for optimal cut quality.
- The FirePower 45i is capable of cutting Steel, Stainless Steel, Brass, and Aluminum, with a maximum cut thickness of 1 inch.
- Torch Trigger Lock: Utilize the torch trigger lock for greater safety when the unit is not in active use or during transport.
