3. Product Overview

3.1 Components

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Unpacking

4.2 Positioning the Unit

Place the indoor unit on a flat, stable surface. The outdoor unit should be placed outside, ensuring the connecting hose can reach without kinks or excessive tension. The standard equipment includes a hanging device for wall mounting the outdoor unit.

4.3 Connecting the Refrigerant Line

The 3-meter refrigerant line is equipped with a quick-coupling system for easy connection and disconnection. Ensure the connections are secure to prevent refrigerant leaks. The hose diameter is approximately 4 cm.

Note: While the quick-coupling system allows for disconnection, frequent disconnection and reconnection should be minimized to preserve the integrity of the seals and refrigerant charge. 4.4 Power Connection

Connect the power cable to a standard 230V electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is properly grounded and can handle the unit's power consumption (1.37 KW).

The Remko RKL 495 DC can be operated via its electronic control panel or the supplied infrared remote control.

5.1 Turning On/Off

• Press the Power button on the control panel or remote control to turn the unit on or off.

5.2 Mode Selection

Use the Mode button to cycle through available operating modes:

• Cooling Mode: For active cooling. Set desired temperature.
• Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling. Note: Fan mode has only one speed.
• Automatic Mode: The unit automatically selects the operating mode based on the ambient temperature and set temperature.

5.3 Temperature Setting

Use the Temperature Up/Down buttons to adjust the desired room temperature. The digital display will show the set temperature.

5.4 Fan Speed Adjustment

In cooling mode, use the Fan Speed button to select between multiple fan speeds (e.g., Low, Medium, High). This function is not available in fan-only mode.

Activate the Swing function to enable automatic vertical oscillation of the air outlet louvers, ensuring even air distribution. The air outlet direction can also be continuously adjusted manually.

5.6 Timer Function

5.7 Remote Control Usage

The infrared remote control allows for convenient operation from a distance. Ensure direct line of sight to the indoor unit's receiver. Insert 2 AAA alkaline batteries (not included) into the remote control, observing polarity.

6.1 Air Filter Cleaning

The unit is equipped with a removable air filter. Clean the air filter regularly (e.g., every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage) to maintain air quality and cooling efficiency.

1. Turn off and unplug the unit.
2. Locate and remove the air filter from the indoor unit.
3. Clean the filter using a vacuum cleaner or wash it with lukewarm water and mild detergent.
4. Allow the filter to dry completely before reinserting it.

6.2 Exterior Cleaning

6.3 Condensate Drainage

Periodically inspect the outdoor unit's condenser coils for dust, pollen, and debris. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning. The coils can be gently cleaned with a soft brush or a low-pressure water spray. Avoid bending the delicate fins.
