1. Product Overview

The FCXJTU Digital Kitchen Timer (Model YS316) is a versatile and user-friendly device designed to assist with various timing needs in the kitchen and beyond. It functions as both a count-up and count-down timer, supporting durations up to 9 hours, 99 minutes, and 99 seconds. Key features include a large, easy-to-read LCD display, direct digit input for quick setting, an adjustable loud alarm, and multiple placement options.

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The timer requires 2 AAA batteries (included). To install or replace batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the timer.
2. Slide open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2.2 Placement Options

The FCXJTU Digital Kitchen Timer offers multiple convenient placement options:

• Magnetic Back: Strong magnets allow attachment to metal surfaces like refrigerators or oven doors.
• Retractable Stand: A built-in stand allows the timer to be placed upright on a countertop or table.
• Lanyard Hole: A small hole is provided for attaching the included lanyard, allowing for hanging or portability.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power ON/OFF

Press the ON/OFF button to turn the timer on or off. Turning the timer off helps conserve battery life.

3.2 Setting the Timer (Countdown)

The timer allows for direct input of digits for quick and easy setting. The maximum countdown time is 9 hours, 99 minutes, and 99 seconds.

1. Ensure the timer is ON.
2. Use the numeric keypad (0-9) to input the desired time. For example, to set 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 00 seconds, press 1, 3, 0, 0, 0, 0. The display will show "01:30:00".
3. Press the ST/SP (Start/Stop) button to begin the countdown.
4. To pause the countdown, press ST/SP again. Press it once more to resume.
5. To clear the set time, press the CLEAR button.

3.3 Count-Up Function (Stopwatch)

To use the timer as a stopwatch (count-up function):

1. Ensure the timer is ON and the display shows "00:00:00". If not, press CLEAR.
2. Press the ST/SP button to start counting up.
3. To pause, press ST/SP again. Press it once more to resume.
4. To reset the count-up time to zero, press the CLEAR button while the timer is paused.

3.4 Alarm Settings

When the countdown reaches zero, the timer will sound an alarm and flash a red light. The alarm volume can be adjusted:

• Locate the volume switch on the side of the timer (refer to Figure 2).
• Slide the switch to select between HIGH, LOW, or MUTE alarm volume.

The flashing red light provides a visual alert, useful in noisy environments or when the alarm is muted.

3.5 Memory Function

The timer automatically stores the last set countdown time. To recall the last set time, simply press the M (Memory) button. This is convenient for repetitive tasks.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your FCXJTU Digital Kitchen Timer:

• Clean the timer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
• Avoid exposing the timer to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
• Remove batteries if the timer will not be used for an extended period to prevent battery leakage.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your timer, try the following common solutions:

• Timer not turning on: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
• Display is dim or blank: This usually indicates low battery. Replace the AAA batteries.
• Alarm is not sounding: Check the volume switch on the side of the timer and ensure it is not set to MUTE.
