Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety instructions before installation and use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the product, property, or personal injury.
- Always disconnect power to the RV's electrical system before working on any wiring or components.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and eye protection during installation.
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly sealed to prevent leaks and electrical shorts.
- Do not modify the probes or use them for purposes other than their intended function.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Package Contents
Verify that all items are present in your package:
- 4 x RecPro Miracle Probes
- 4 x 3/8" Nuts (pre-installed on probes)
Setup and Installation
The RecPro Miracle Probes are designed for easy installation in both black and gray water holding tanks. Proper installation is crucial for accurate readings.
Installation Steps
- Prepare the Tank: Ensure the holding tank is empty and clean before beginning installation. Disconnect all power to the RV.
- Locate Sensor Holes: Identify the existing sensor holes on your holding tank. If replacing old sensors, carefully remove them. If drilling new holes, ensure they are in a location that allows for proper probe depth and clearance from internal tank structures. The probes require a 3/8" diameter hole.
- Insert the Probe: Insert a Miracle Probe into each designated hole. The probe features a roof design to prevent snags and sticking inside the tank. Ensure the probe is oriented correctly, with the protective roof facing downwards into the tank.
- Secure the Probe: On the exterior of the tank, secure the probe using the provided 3/8" nut. Tighten the nut firmly but do not overtighten, as this can damage the probe or tank. A small notch on the threaded end helps indicate the probe's orientation during tightening.
- Connect Wiring: Connect the existing sensor wiring to the threaded end of the new probe. Ensure a secure electrical connection.
- Repeat for all Probes: Install all four probes at the appropriate levels for your tank (e.g., 1/3, 2/3, Full).
- Test the System: Once all probes are installed and wired, restore power to the RV and test the tank level monitoring system. Fill the tank with water incrementally to verify accurate readings at each sensor level.

Operating Your Sensors
Once installed, the RecPro Miracle Probes operate by detecting the presence of liquid at their respective levels within the holding tank. The unique design, featuring a protective roof and extended pin depth, helps to prevent false readings commonly caused by residue buildup or splashing on traditional sensors.
- The probes are compatible with both gray water and black water tanks.
- The stainless steel head ensures durability and resistance to corrosive tank environments.
- The 1 1/2" pin depth ensures the sensor makes reliable contact with the liquid level.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and continued accuracy of your RecPro Miracle Probes, consider the following maintenance tips:
- Regular Tank Flushing: Periodically flush your holding tanks thoroughly to minimize buildup of waste and debris on the probes. This helps maintain accurate readings.
- Visual Inspection: During routine RV maintenance, visually inspect the exterior connections of the probes for any signs of wear, corrosion, or leaks.
- Cleaning: If you suspect a probe is providing inaccurate readings due to heavy buildup, a thorough tank cleaning with appropriate RV tank cleaning solutions may be necessary. The design of the Miracle Probes is intended to reduce this issue, but extreme conditions may still require cleaning.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your RecPro Miracle Probes, refer to the table below for common problems and their solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Inaccurate or 'always full' reading | Residue buildup on probes; faulty wiring connection; probe not properly seated. | Perform a thorough tank flush. Check all wiring connections for security and corrosion. Ensure probes are correctly installed and tightened. |
| Difficulty tightening probe nut | Probe shaft rotating during tightening. | Use a small pair of pliers to gently hold the threaded shaft to prevent rotation while tightening the nut. Avoid damaging the threads. |
| No reading from a specific probe | Loose wire connection; damaged probe; electrical issue in RV system. | Check the wiring connection to the specific probe. Inspect the probe for visible damage. Consult an RV electrician if the issue persists. |
