Product Features
- LT (Light & Tough) Concept: Engineered for lightweight durability.
- HardbodyZ Aluminum Reel Body: Provides strength and torsion resistance.
- MagSealed Body Construction: Prevents water and dirt intrusion for enhanced longevity, especially in saltwater environments.
- 5 "CRBB" Ball Bearings: Corrosion-resistant ball bearings for smooth operation.
- Air Rotor: Reduces weight and improves rotational balance.
- Tough Digigear Gears: Ensures improved power transmission and durability.
- ATD Brake System: Automatic Tournament Drag system for finely adjustable and powerful braking performance.
- Infinite Anti-Reverse Backstop: Eliminates back play for solid hooksets.
- Cross Wrap Line Laying: Optimizes line winding for longer casts and reduced tangles.
- Longcast ABS Aluminum Spool: Designed for extended casting distances.
- CNC Machined Aluminum Crank: Durable and precise handle.
- Air Bail Groove Bracket & Twist Buster II Line Roller: Designed to prevent line twists.
Setup Instructions
- Attach Handle: Insert the CNC machined aluminum crank into the reel body. For left-hand retrieve, ensure it is securely fastened on the left side.

Figure 2: Close-up view of the reel's handle and gear housing, illustrating the attachment point for the crank.
- Spooling Line:
- Open the bail arm.
- Tie your fishing line to the Longcast ABS aluminum spool using an appropriate knot (e.g., arbor knot).
- Close the bail arm.
- Begin winding the line onto the spool, ensuring even tension. The Cross Wrap line laying system will assist in uniform distribution.
- Fill the spool to approximately 1-2mm below the spool lip. Do not overfill.
Recommended Line Capacity: 150 meters of 0.28 mm diameter line.

- Mounting to Rod: Securely attach the reel foot into the reel seat of your fishing rod. Tighten the reel seat locking nut until the reel is firm and stable.
Operating Instructions
- Drag Adjustment (ATD Brake System): The drag knob is located on the front of the spool. Turn clockwise to increase drag tension and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Adjust the drag to approximately one-third of your line's breaking strength. The ATD system provides smooth, consistent drag pressure.
- Casting:
- Hold the line against the rod with your index finger.
- Open the bail arm.
- Execute your cast.
- As the lure or bait approaches the target, gently feather the line with your finger to control distance.
- Close the bail arm manually or by turning the handle.
- Retrieving: Turn the handle to retrieve line. The 5.2:1 gear ratio and Tough Digigear system provide efficient retrieval. The Infinite Anti-Reverse ensures immediate hook-setting power.
- Line Roller (Twist Buster II): Ensure the line passes correctly over the Twist Buster II line roller to minimize line twist during retrieval.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Daiwa Lexa E LT 5000S-C reel.
- After Each Use:
- Rinse the reel with fresh water, especially after saltwater use, due to its saltwater-resistant design and MagSealed construction. Do not submerge the reel.
- Wipe the reel dry with a soft cloth.
- Loosen the drag completely to prevent compression of the drag washers during storage.
- Periodic Lubrication:
- Apply a small amount of reel oil to moving parts such as the handle knob, bail arm pivots, and line roller.
- Grease the main gear and pinion gear periodically. Consult a professional if unsure about internal lubrication.
- Storage: Store the reel in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Stiff or rough retrieve | Lack of lubrication, dirt/debris in gears, damaged bearings. | Clean and lubricate moving parts. If problem persists, professional service may be required. |
| Drag slipping or inconsistent | Drag washers are dry, worn, or contaminated. | Inspect drag washers. Clean or replace if necessary. Ensure drag is not stored tightened. |
| Line twist | Improper spooling, faulty line roller, or retrieving against drag. | Respool line correctly. Check line roller for free rotation. Avoid retrieving line when drag is engaged and line is peeling. |
| Bail arm not closing properly | Debris in bail mechanism, bent bail wire, or worn spring. | Clean bail mechanism. If bent or worn, professional repair or part replacement may be needed. |
