Setup and Installation
Before you begin: Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker. If you are unsure about electrical wiring, consult a qualified electrician.
- Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling the outlet where you intend to install the receptacle. Switch the breaker to the OFF position. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
- Remove Old Receptacle: Unscrew and carefully pull the existing receptacle from the wall box. Disconnect the wires from the old receptacle, noting which wire was connected to which terminal (Hot, Neutral, Ground).
- Prepare Wires: If necessary, strip approximately 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the wires. Ensure wires are straight and free of nicks.
- Examine the Receptacle: Familiarize yourself with the physical components of the new receptacle.

- Connect the HOT (black or red) wire to the brass-colored screw terminals.
- Connect the NEUTRAL (white) wire to the silver-colored screw terminals.
- Connect the GROUND (bare copper or green) wire to the green screw terminal.
Ensure all connections are tight and secure. For back-wiring, insert the stripped wire into the appropriate hole and tighten the screw.

Operating Instructions
The Maxxima USB Wall Outlet Receptacle provides both standard AC power and USB charging capabilities.
- Standard AC Outlets: Insert any standard 2-prong or 3-prong electrical plug into the AC outlets. These outlets are tamper-resistant for safety.
- USB Charging Ports: The receptacle features one USB-A port and one USB-C port. Connect your compatible device's charging cable to the appropriate USB port.
- Smart Charging: The built-in smart identification chip recognizes the charging requirements of your connected devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, MP3 players) and optimizes the charging speed up to a combined total of 4.8 Amps.
- Overload Protection: If the total power demand from connected USB devices exceeds 4.8 Amps, the smart detection system will reduce the charging rate to protect your devices and the receptacle.

Maintenance
The Maxxima USB Wall Outlet Receptacle requires minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: Disconnect power at the circuit breaker before cleaning. Wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the receptacle for any signs of damage, loose connections, or discoloration. If any issues are observed, turn off power and consult a qualified electrician.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power from AC outlets. | Circuit breaker tripped; loose wiring connection. | Check and reset the circuit breaker. Verify wiring connections are secure (turn off power first). |
| USB ports not charging. | Device incompatibility; faulty cable; total current draw exceeds 4.8A; loose connection. | Try a different USB cable. Test with another device. Ensure total current draw is within 4.8A. Some high-power devices (e.g., certain iPads, MacBooks, or specific Android phones) may require higher power delivery than this unit provides via USB-C. |
| Charging is slow. | Multiple devices connected; device requires higher charging rate; cable quality. | Disconnect other USB devices. Use a high-quality charging cable. Note that the total output is 4.8A shared between both USB ports. |
| Wall plate does not sit flush. | Receptacle not fully seated in wall box; wires not properly arranged. | Ensure wires are neatly folded into the wall box. Gently push the receptacle fully into the box before tightening mounting screws. |
