4. Setup and Installation

The ARREGUI Plus C 181340 is a built-in safe that requires professional masonry work for proper installation into a wall. It is crucial to ensure the wall structure can accommodate the safe's dimensions and weight.

  1. Prepare the Wall Opening: Create an opening in the wall that matches the external dimensions of the safe (27 cm height x 38.5 cm width). The depth of the opening should accommodate the safe's extendable bottom, which ranges from 20 cm to 30 cm. Allow for sufficient space for mortar or fixing materials.
  2. Adjust Extendable Bottom: The safe features an extendable bottom that can be adjusted to 5 possible depths (20/22.5/25/27.5/30 cm). Adjust the safe's depth to match the wall thickness before embedding.
  3. Insert the Safe: Carefully insert the safe into the prepared wall opening. Ensure it is level and flush with the wall surface.
  4. Secure the Safe: Use appropriate high-strength mortar or concrete to firmly embed the safe into the wall. Ensure all gaps around the safe are completely filled to prevent removal. Allow sufficient time for the mortar to cure completely before using the safe.

5. Operating Instructions

Your ARREGUI Plus C 181340 safe uses a high-security double bit key lock, certified Class A according to European standard EN1300.

  1. Opening the Safe:
    • Insert one of the provided user keys into the keyhole.
    • Turn the key clockwise (or counter-clockwise, depending on the lock mechanism) until the bolts retract.
    • Pull the door open.
  2. Closing and Locking the Safe:
    • Ensure the door is fully closed and flush with the safe body.
    • Insert the key into the keyhole.
    • Turn the key counter-clockwise (or clockwise) to extend the 6 rotary bolts, securing the door. The anti-lever closure mechanism will engage, making the bolts inaccessible from the outside.
    • Remove the key and store it in a secure location.

The safe features 10+3 mm anti-drill protection on the front (10 mm thick door plus a special 3 mm anti-drill plate) and 2 mm thick safe body, along with anti-saw bolts for enhanced security.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Lock Mechanism: Periodically check the key lock for smooth operation. If the lock feels stiff, a small amount of graphite lubricant (not oil-based) can be applied to the key and inserted into the lock.
  • Key Care: Keep your keys clean and free from debris. Avoid bending or forcing the keys.
  • Internal Shelf: The safe includes a removable shelf for organizing contents. Ensure it is properly seated if used.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Key does not turn or safe does not open:
    • Ensure the key is fully inserted and oriented correctly.
    • Do not force the key. If the lock is stiff, try applying a small amount of graphite lubricant.
    • Check if the door is under pressure. Gently push on the door while turning the key.
    • If the issue persists, contact ARREGUI technical support.
  • Safe door does not close properly:
    • Ensure no objects are obstructing the door or the bolt mechanism.
    • Check if the safe is level and properly embedded in the wall.
