Setup Guide
Charging the Speaker
- Open the protective rubber flap on the side of the speaker.
- Connect the provided Micro USB charging cable to the speaker's charging port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer).
- The LED indicator will glow red while charging and turn blue when fully charged. A full charge typically takes about 3 hours.
Powering On/Off
- Press and hold the Power button (located on the side) for a few seconds to turn the speaker ON or OFF.
Operating Your JBL Clip 3
Bluetooth Pairing
- Turn on the JBL Clip 3 speaker.
- Press the Bluetooth button (located on the side, next to the Power button) to enter pairing mode. The LED indicator will flash blue.
- On your smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth-enabled device, go to the Bluetooth settings and select "JBL Clip 3" from the list of available devices.
- Once successfully paired, the LED indicator will turn solid blue, and you will hear an audible confirmation.
Audio Playback
- Use the Play/Pause button on the speaker to start or stop audio playback.
- Press the '+' button to increase volume.
- Press the '-' button to decrease volume.
- Double-press the Play/Pause button to skip to the next track.
Speakerphone Functionality
- When a call comes in, press the Play/Pause button to answer the call.
- Press the Play/Pause button again to end the call.
- Press and hold the Play/Pause button to reject an incoming call.
- The built-in noise and echo-cancelling speakerphone ensures clear call quality.
Using the Carabiner
- The integrated metal carabiner allows you to easily hook the speaker to your backpack, belt loop, or other secure points for convenient portability.
Maintenance and Care
- Keep the protective rubber flap covering the charging and auxiliary ports securely closed when not in use, especially in wet environments, to maintain the IPX7 waterproof rating.
- Clean the speaker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Avoid exposing the speaker to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) for prolonged periods.
- Store the speaker in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Troubleshooting
Speaker not turning on:
- Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the speaker to a power source using the Micro USB cable.
- Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds.
Unable to pair via Bluetooth:
- Make sure the speaker is in pairing mode (flashing blue LED).
- Ensure your device's Bluetooth is enabled and within range (up to 10 meters).
- Forget "JBL Clip 3" from your device's Bluetooth list and try pairing again.
- Turn off and on both the speaker and your device.
No sound or low volume:
- Check the volume levels on both the speaker and your connected device.
- Ensure the speaker is properly paired via Bluetooth or connected via the 3.5mm audio cable.
- If using the 3.5mm audio cable, ensure it is fully inserted into both the speaker and the audio source.
Water damage concerns:
- Always ensure the protective rubber flap is securely closed when the speaker is exposed to water. The IPX7 rating protects against immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Prolonged exposure or deeper immersion may cause damage.
