  • Quiet Operation: Engineered for low noise levels during use.
  • IPX4 Rated: Protected against splashing water, suitable for wet environments.
  • Automatic Humidity Sensor: Activates the fan when room humidity exceeds a set threshold (adjustable 60-90% RH).
  • Adjustable Timer: Allows customization of fan run-on time (1-30 minutes) after activation.

2. Safety Information

Please read all safety instructions carefully before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or personal injury.

  • Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all local and national wiring regulations.
  • Always disconnect power at the main circuit breaker before installing, servicing, or cleaning the fan.
  • Ensure the power supply voltage matches the fan's rating (230V, 50Hz).
  • Do not install the fan above a shower or bath unless it is protected by a residual current device (RCD).
  • Keep hands and foreign objects away from the fan blades during operation.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

4. Installation

The EE100HT_SML fan is designed for wall or ceiling mounting and is compatible with 100mm (4-inch) round air ducts.

4.1 Mounting the Fan

  1. Prepare the Installation Area: Ensure the mounting surface is flat and stable. Create a 100mm diameter opening for the duct if not already present.
  2. Disconnect Power: Turn off the electricity supply at the main circuit breaker.
  3. Separate Front Cover: Gently unclip or unscrew the front cover of the fan to access the mounting holes and wiring terminal.
  4. Position the Fan: Place the fan body into the duct opening or against the wall/ceiling, ensuring the duct spigot is correctly aligned.
  5. Mark Drilling Points: Use the fan's mounting holes as a template to mark the drilling points on the wall or ceiling.
  6. Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked points and insert the provided wall plugs.
  7. Secure the Fan: Mount the fan body securely using the provided screws.

4.2 Electrical Connection

Refer to the wiring diagram inside the fan's terminal cover. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.

  1. Access Terminal Block: With the front cover removed, locate the electrical terminal block.
  2. Connect Wires: Connect the live (L), neutral (N), and switched live (LT) wires from your electrical supply to the corresponding terminals on the fan. The switched live (LT) is typically connected to the light switch circuit for timer activation.
  3. Secure Wiring: Ensure all wires are properly stripped and securely fastened in the terminal block. Use cable clamps if available to prevent strain on connections.

4.3 Reattach Front Cover

Once wiring is complete and secure, reattach the front cover of the fan. Ensure it clips or screws back into place firmly.

5. Operation

The EE100HT_SML fan operates based on its integrated humidistat and timer settings.

5.1 Humidistat (Humidity Sensor)

The fan will automatically activate when the ambient humidity level in the room exceeds the set threshold. It will continue to run until the humidity drops below this threshold, plus any additional run-on time set by the timer.

5.2 Timer Function

The timer allows the fan to continue running for a set period after the humidity level drops or after the switched live (e.g., light switch) is turned off. This ensures complete removal of residual moisture and odors.

5.3 Adjusting Settings

To adjust the humidistat and timer settings, you will need to remove the front cover of the fan (ensure power is disconnected first). Inside, you will find two potentiometers (small adjustable screws):

  • Humidity Threshold: Adjust this potentiometer to set the humidity level (60-90% Relative Humidity) at which the fan will activate. Turning it clockwise typically increases the threshold.
  • Timer Duration: Adjust this potentiometer to set the run-on time (1-30 minutes) for the fan. Turning it clockwise typically increases the duration.

Use a small screwdriver to carefully turn these potentiometers. After adjustment, reattach the front cover and restore power to test the new settings.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your extractor fan.

6.1 Cleaning the Fan

  1. Disconnect Power: Always turn off the electricity supply at the main circuit breaker before cleaning.
  2. Remove Front Cover: Carefully unclip or unscrew the front cover.
  3. Clean Cover and Blades: Wipe the front cover and the fan blades with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild detergent can be used. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  4. Clean Fan Body: Gently wipe the exterior of the fan body. Avoid getting water into the electrical components.
  5. Reassemble: Ensure all parts are dry before reattaching the front cover.
  6. Restore Power: Turn the electricity supply back on.
