5. Installation
This timer is designed to replace a standard single-pole or three-way wall switch. A neutral wire is required for proper operation.
5.1 Before You Begin
- Turn off power: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse that supplies power to the switch you are replacing and turn it OFF. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
- Remove existing switch: Carefully remove the wall plate and unscrew the existing switch from the wall box.
- Identify wires: Identify the LINE (hot), LOAD, NEUTRAL, and GROUND wires. A neutral wire is essential for this timer. If a neutral wire is not present, consult a qualified electrician.

5.2 Wiring Instructions
The UltraPro timer uses screw terminals for wire connections, eliminating the need for wire leads.
- Connect GROUND wire: Connect the bare copper or green insulated GROUND wire from the wall box to the GROUND terminal on the timer.
- Connect NEUTRAL wire: Connect the white NEUTRAL wire from the wall box to the NEUTRAL terminal on the timer.
- Connect LINE wire: Connect the LINE (hot) wire from the wall box to the LINE terminal on the timer.
- Connect LOAD wire: Connect the LOAD wire (to the light fixture) from the wall box to the LOAD terminal on the timer.
- Three-way wiring (if applicable): If replacing a three-way switch, connect the TRAVELER wire to the TRAVELER terminal on the timer. Ensure the other three-way switch is compatible or replaced with a standard switch.
- Secure connections: Tighten all screw terminals to 8.85 - 12.39 lbf-in (1.0 - 1.4 Nm).
