1. Overview

The Arlo Essential Wired Video Doorbell provides advanced home security with HD video, a 180-degree viewing angle, and night vision. It features two-way audio, motion detection with smart alerts for people, vehicles, packages, and animals, and a built-in siren. Designed for DIY installation, this doorbell connects to existing electrical wiring and integrates with various smart home systems.

The Arlo Essential Wired Video Doorbell requires existing electrical wiring with a voltage between 16V AC and 24V AC, and a 10VA transformer. A Phillips screwdriver, drill, and ladder may be needed for installation.

Installation Steps:

  1. Turn off power: Locate your doorbell's circuit breaker and turn off the power to your existing doorbell and chime.
  2. Install Power Kit: Install the provided power kit to your existing chime box.
  3. Disconnect old doorbell: Remove your old doorbell from the wall and disconnect its wires.
  4. Connect Arlo Doorbell: Connect the existing doorbell wires to the back of your Arlo Video Doorbell.
  5. Mount the doorbell: Secure the Arlo Video Doorbell to the wall using the mounting plate and screws.
  6. Restore power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
  7. Complete setup via Arlo App: Download the Arlo App from your mobile device's app store and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.
