1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Carlett Lett460 4-Wheel Foldable Shopping Trolley. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient use of your new trolley. Please read these instructions carefully before assembly and use, and retain them for future reference.

2. Safety Instructions

  • Maximum Load Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum load of 25 kg (55 lbs). Overloading can damage the trolley and pose a safety risk.
  • Stability: Always ensure the trolley is stable before loading or unloading. Use the safety brake when stationary, especially on inclines.
  • Children: This trolley is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with or ride on the trolley.
  • Maintenance: Regularly inspect all parts for wear and tear. Do not use if any components are damaged.
  • Folding Mechanism: Exercise caution when folding and unfolding the trolley to avoid pinching fingers.
  • Cleaning: Clean the trolley and bags as instructed in the maintenance section to ensure hygiene and longevity.

5.2 Using 4-Wheel and 2-Wheel Modes

The Lett460 trolley is designed with 4 wheels for easy maneuverability. For flat surfaces, push the trolley with all four wheels on the ground. When encountering stairs or curbs, tilt the trolley back to engage the two larger rear wheels, allowing you to pull it up or down.

5.3 Loading the Bags

  • Main Bag: The main bag has a 40L capacity. Distribute items evenly to maintain balance.
  • Thermal Bag: The integrated 10L thermal bag is suitable for keeping frozen or chilled items. Ensure the zipper is fully closed to maintain temperature.

To fold the trolley for compact storage, ensure the bag is empty. Release the frame locking mechanisms and gently push the handle downwards while lifting the base until the trolley folds flat. Secure with the safety closure if available. Removable wheels can be detached for even more compact storage.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Bag: The bag is removable and water-resistant. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Allow to air dry completely before reattaching.
  • Cleaning the Frame: Wipe the aluminum frame with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Wheel Maintenance: Periodically check the wheels for debris (hair, lint, etc.) and clean them to ensure smooth operation. Lubricate axles if necessary with a silicone-based spray.
  • Storage: Store the folded trolley in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Trolley does not fold/unfold smoothly: Check for any obstructions in the folding mechanism. Ensure all locking levers are disengaged before folding. Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to moving parts if stiff.
  • Wheels are stiff or squeaky: Clean any debris from the wheel axles. If the issue persists, lubricate the axles with a suitable lubricant. Ensure wheels are correctly attached.
  • Trolley feels unstable: Ensure the frame is fully locked in the open position. Distribute the load evenly within the bag, keeping heavier items at the bottom. Do not exceed the maximum weight limit.
  • Brake not engaging: Check for any obstructions preventing the brake mechanism from fully engaging. Ensure the brake lever/pedal is pressed firmly.
