3. Setup and Installation

The SOLPEX Solar Lights are designed for easy, tool-free installation. Follow these steps to set up your lights:

  1. Connect the Pole: Gently twist the light cap (the top part with the solar panel) onto the pole.
  2. Activate the Switch: Locate the switch under the light cap. Remove any protective tab and turn the switch to the "ON" position.
  3. Assemble the Ground Stake: Pull out the bottom spike from the tube and connect it to the pole.
  4. Insert into Ground: Choose a location that receives direct sunlight for most of the day. Insert the assembled solar light into soft earth. For harder ground, it is recommended to loosen the soil or create a pilot hole to avoid damaging the stake.

4. Operating Instructions

Once installed and the switch is in the "ON" position, your SOLPEX Solar Lights will operate automatically:

  • Automatic Charging: The solar panel on top of each light will automatically charge the internal rechargeable battery during daylight hours. Ensure the solar panel is clean and receives ample direct sunlight for optimal charging.
  • Automatic Illumination: At dusk, the built-in light sensor will detect the decrease in ambient light and automatically turn on the LED light.
  • Automatic Shut-off: At dawn, as ambient light increases, the sensor will automatically turn off the LED light, conserving battery power for the next night.
  • Lighting Duration: After a full charge, the lights can glow for up to 8-12 hours, depending on the amount of sunlight received during the day and environmental conditions.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SOLPEX Solar Lights, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Clean Solar Panels: Regularly wipe the solar panel surface with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, leaves, or snow. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption and efficient charging.
  • Battery Replacement: The pre-installed 1.2V AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries have a lifespan. If you notice a significant decrease in lighting duration after ensuring sufficient sunlight, the batteries may need replacement. Use only rechargeable Ni-MH AA batteries.
  • Weather Resistance: These lights are IP44 waterproof, designed to withstand sunny, rainy, and light snowy conditions. However, during extreme weather events, it is advisable to bring them indoors to prevent potential damage.
  • Placement: Periodically check that the lights are still firmly in the ground and have not shifted, especially after heavy rain or strong winds.
