4.3. App Control

All functions and settings of the Arlo Pro SmartHub and connected cameras are managed through the Arlo mobile application, available for smartphones and tablets. The app allows for live viewing, recording management, siren control, and system configuration.

5. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Arlo Pro SmartHub, consider the following maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the exterior of the SmartHub with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install firmware updates through the Arlo app. Updates often include performance improvements, new features, and security enhancements.
  • Placement: Ensure the SmartHub is placed in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, to prevent overheating.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Arlo Pro SmartHub, refer to the Troubleshooting Guide (PDF) for detailed solutions. Below are some common issues and basic steps:

  • SmartHub Offline: If the SmartHub frequently goes offline, try unplugging the power adapter, waiting 10 seconds, and then plugging it back in. Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the SmartHub and your router.
  • Difficulty Pairing Cameras: Ensure both the camera and the SmartHub are in pairing mode (indicated by specific LED patterns). Press the Sync button on both devices. Verify that the camera model is compatible with the VMB4540 SmartHub.
