3. Network Configuration

For remote access and online features, connect the DVR to your network using the Ethernet cable. Plug one end into the DVR's RJ45 network interface and the other end into your router or network switch. Configure network settings via the DVR's menu, typically found under 'Network' or 'System'.

Operating

1. Live View

Once cameras are connected, you can view live footage on the connected monitor. Use the mouse to navigate the on-screen interface, switch between single and multi-channel views, and access camera controls.

2. Recording

The DVR automatically records footage to the internal 1TB hard drive based on default settings (e.g., continuous recording, motion detection). You can customize recording schedules and settings through the DVR's menu. The system supports recording at up to 1080p resolution.

3. Playback

To review recorded footage, access the 'Playback' function from the main menu. You can search for recordings by date, time, and event type. The DVR allows for multi-channel viewing during playback.

4. Remote Access (HomeSafe View App)

The HomeSafe View App allows you to access your DVR remotely from your smartphone or tablet. Download the app from your device's app store (iOS, Android). Follow the app's instructions to add your DVR using its unique ID or QR code. This enables live viewing, playback of stored recordings, and capturing still images from your cameras on the go.

For more detailed instructions on setting up remote access, refer to the Swann Support website.

Maintenance

1. Hard Drive Management

The DVR's 1TB hard drive will automatically overwrite the oldest footage when it becomes full. You can check the hard drive status and manage storage settings through the DVR's menu. The hard drive can be expanded up to 4TB by replacing the existing drive with a compatible larger capacity SATA HDD.
