4. Installation

4.1 Pre-Installation Checks

4.2 Mounting the Hood

1. Mark the drilling points on the wall according to the hood's dimensions and desired height.
2. Drill holes and insert wall plugs suitable for your wall type.
3. Secure the mounting bracket to the wall.
4. Carefully lift the hood and hang it onto the mounting bracket.
5. Install the chimney sections, ensuring they are securely fastened and aligned.

4.3 Electrical Connection

Connect the hood to a grounded electrical outlet (240 Volts). Ensure the connection complies with all local electrical codes.

4.4 Ducting Options

The hood can be installed for ducted extraction (venting outside) or recirculating (filter mode). For ducted extraction, connect a suitable duct to the outlet. For recirculating mode, charcoal filters (not included) must be installed.

The Baumatic BMECH6WSS features intuitive push-button controls located on the front panel.

5.1 Control Panel

The control panel typically includes buttons for power ON/OFF, fan speed selection, and lighting control.

• Power Button: Press to turn the hood ON or OFF.
• Fan Speed Buttons: Select from multiple fan speeds (e.g., 1, 2, 3) to adjust extraction power. Use lower speeds for light cooking and higher speeds for intense cooking.

For optimal performance, switch on the hood a few minutes before you start cooking and leave it running for approximately 10-15 minutes after you finish to clear residual odors and steam.

6.1 Cleaning the Aluminium Mesh Filters

The aluminium mesh filters trap grease particles and should be cleaned regularly (approximately every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage) to prevent grease buildup and maintain extraction efficiency.

1. Switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the power supply.
2. Release the filter latches and carefully remove the filters.
3. Wash the filters by hand in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher on a low-temperature cycle.
4. Allow the filters to dry completely before re-installing them.

6.2 Replacing LED Lights

The hood uses LED bulbs. If a light needs replacement, contact qualified service personnel. Do not attempt to replace LED lights yourself unless specifically instructed by the manufacturer, as they are often integrated units.
