1. Introduction

The Newhank Powermate is a compact, all-in-one stereo background music source solution featuring an integrated 2 x 100 W RMS amplifier. Designed for versatility and ease of use, this 1U rack-mountable unit supports various audio sources including USB, SD card, Bluetooth, FM radio, microphone, and auxiliary inputs.

It is ideal for background music systems in commercial environments such as restaurants, cafes, and offices, capable of driving up to four 8 Ohm speakers.

4.1. Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully unpack the Newhank Powermate unit and inspect it for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage.

  1. POWER Switch: Turns the unit on or off.
  2. MIC Input: 6.3mm jack for connecting a microphone.
  3. AUX Input: 6.3mm jack for connecting external audio sources.
  4. LCD Display: Shows current mode, track information, FM frequency, and volume level.
  5. USB Port: For connecting USB flash drives.
  6. SD Card Slot: For inserting SD memory cards.
  7. Media Player Controls: Buttons for mode selection, track navigation, play/pause, stop, repeat, and equalizer settings.
  8. MIC LEVEL: Adjusts the volume of the microphone input.
  9. AUX/MP3 LEVEL: Adjusts the volume of the auxiliary and media player inputs.
  10. LINE LEVEL: Adjusts the volume of the main line input.
  11. VOLUME: Master volume control for the overall output.
  12. TREBLE: Adjusts the high-frequency response.
  13. BASS: Adjusts the low-frequency response.

  1. AUX IN (RCA): Stereo RCA inputs for connecting external audio sources.
  2. PRE OUT / AMP IN (RCA): Pre-amplifier output and main amplifier input. This allows for connecting external processors (like a sound limiter) or extending the system with additional amplifiers/subwoofers.
  3. SPEAKER OUTPUT: Binding post terminals for connecting passive speakers (minimum 4 Ohm load per channel). Connect positive (+) to positive and negative (-) to negative.
  4. AC INPUT: Power socket for connecting the supplied AC power cable.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Powering On/Off

Press the POWER switch on the front panel to turn the unit on or off. The LCD display will illuminate when the unit is powered on.

5.2. Source Selection

Press the MODE button on the front panel (or remote control) to cycle through available input sources: USB, SD, Bluetooth, FM Radio, AUX (front), AUX (rear).
