1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your Panadero Allegro Ecodesign Wood Stove. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use, and retain it for future reference. This wood stove is designed to heat spaces up to approximately 96 m² (240 m³) and complies with the Ecodesign 2022 sustainability requirements, offering high performance with low emissions.
2. Safety Information
Important: Always prioritize safety when operating a wood stove. Improper installation, operation, or maintenance can lead to fire hazards, carbon monoxide poisoning, and other serious injuries or property damage.
- Ensure the stove is installed by a qualified professional in accordance with local building codes and regulations.
- Maintain adequate clearance from combustible materials as specified by local regulations and the installer.
- Use only recommended fuels: dry, seasoned wood or wood briquettes. Do not burn trash, plastics, treated wood, or flammable liquids.
- Install and regularly check smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in your home.
- Keep children and pets away from the hot surfaces of the stove.
- Always use heat-resistant gloves when handling hot components or adding fuel.
- Never leave the stove unattended while in operation.
- Ensure proper ventilation to prevent smoke accumulation.
3. Setup and Installation
The Panadero Allegro Ecodesign Wood Stove is designed for freestanding installation. Professional installation is highly recommended to ensure compliance with all safety standards and optimal performance.
3.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully unpack the stove and inspect it for any damage that may have occurred during transit. Report any damage to your supplier immediately.
3.2 Placement and Clearances
The stove must be placed on a non-combustible floor protector if installed on a combustible floor. Ensure sufficient clearance from walls and other combustible materials. Consult local building codes and the installer for specific requirements.

3.3 Flue Pipe Connection
The stove features a top flue pipe connection with a diameter of 150-153 mm. Ensure the flue pipe system is correctly installed and sealed to prevent smoke leakage and ensure proper draft.
3.4 External Air Intake
This stove includes an external air intake, which improves ventilation and efficiency, especially in well-insulated homes. Connect this intake to an external air supply as per installation guidelines.

4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and efficient operation of your wood stove.
4.1 Fuel Type
The Allegro Ecodesign is a multi-fuel stove, compatible with wood and wood briquettes. Use logs up to 80 cm in length. Ensure wood is dry and seasoned for optimal burning and minimal emissions.
4.2 Lighting the Stove
- Open the air intake control (item 11 in Figure 2) fully.
- Place crumpled paper or firelighters on the grate.
- Arrange small pieces of kindling wood on top of the paper/firelighters.
- Light the paper/firelighters.
- Once the kindling is burning well, gradually add larger pieces of wood.
- Close the door (item 9 in Figure 2) securely.
- Adjust the air intake control to achieve the desired burn rate once the fire is established.
4.3 Double Combustion System
This stove features a double combustion system. This process re-burns uncombusted particles from the initial wood combustion, leading to higher efficiency and significantly lower CO2 emissions (only 0.05%). Ensure adequate air supply for this system to function effectively.

4.4 Clean Glass System
The stove is equipped with a clean glass system, which uses a curtain of air to keep the glass clear during operation. For optimal performance of this system, ensure the air intake is properly adjusted and only dry fuel is used.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of your wood stove.
5.1 Ash Removal
Empty the ash drawer (item 10 in Figure 2) regularly. Do not allow ash to build up and obstruct the air intake or grate. Ensure ashes are completely cold before disposal in a non-combustible container.
5.2 Glass Cleaning
Even with the clean glass system, some soot may accumulate. Clean the glass (item 7 in Figure 2) when the stove is cold using a specialized glass cleaner for wood stoves or a damp cloth dipped in ash. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
5.3 Chimney and Flue Pipe Cleaning
The chimney and flue pipe should be inspected and cleaned by a qualified chimney sweep at least once a year, or more frequently depending on usage, to prevent creosote buildup and reduce the risk of chimney fires.
5.4 General Inspection
Periodically check the door seals, vermiculite panels (items 1, 2, 3, 4 in Figure 2), and other internal components for wear or damage. Replace any worn parts promptly.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your wood stove.
- Poor Draft / Smoke Spillage:
- Check if the chimney is blocked or needs cleaning.
- Ensure air intake is fully open during startup.
- Verify that the flue pipe connection is sealed correctly.
- Ensure external air intake is not obstructed.
- Low Heat Output:
- Ensure you are using dry, seasoned wood. Wet wood burns inefficiently.
- Check if the air intake is sufficiently open.
- Verify that the stove is not oversized for the space.
- Excessive Creosote Buildup:
- This often indicates incomplete combustion. Ensure adequate air supply.
- Use only dry, seasoned wood.
- Have the chimney cleaned more frequently.
- Glass Blackening:
- Ensure the clean glass system air wash is functioning (air intake open).
- Use dry wood.
- Clean the glass regularly when cold.
