2. Safety Instructions

Control Panel Features:

5. Setup
5.1 Power Connection
- AC Power: Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC inlet on the back of the unit and then to a wall outlet.
- Battery Power: For portable use, open the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit and insert 6 x C-size batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
5.2 Antenna Setup
For optimal FM radio reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna. Adjust its position for the best signal.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
Press the Power Button to turn the unit on or off. The ON indicator will light up when the unit is on.
6.2 FM Radio Operation
- Press the MODE / INFO Button repeatedly until "FM" appears on the display.
- Automatic Tuning: Press and hold the DOWN or UP buttons to automatically scan for the next available station.
- Manual Tuning: Briefly press the DOWN or UP buttons to fine-tune the frequency step by step.
- Saving Presets (10 channels):
- Tune to the desired station.
- Press the MEM Button. The display will show a flashing preset number.
- Use the DOWN or UP buttons to select the desired preset number (1-10).
- Press the MEM Button again to confirm and save the station.
- Recalling Presets: Briefly press the MEM Button, then use the DOWN or UP buttons to select a saved preset.
6.3 CD Player Operation
The integrated CD player supports CD-DA, MP3, and WMA formats on CD-RW discs.
- Press the MODE / INFO Button repeatedly until "CD" appears on the display.
- Open the CD compartment cover.
- Place a CD with the label side facing up. Close the CD compartment cover securely.
- The unit will read the disc, and playback will start automatically.
- Use the Play/Pause Button to pause or resume playback.
- Use the DOWN or UP buttons to skip tracks. Press and hold to fast forward/rewind.
- For MP3/WMA CDs with folders, use the ALBUM or DN buttons to navigate between folders.
6.4 Bluetooth Streaming (V5.0)
- Press the MODE / INFO Button repeatedly until "BT" or "Bluetooth" appears on the display. The unit will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon or message.
- On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "GRUNDIG GPR1090" (or similar) from the list of devices.
- Once paired, the unit will confirm the connection, and you can start playing audio from your device.
- Use the playback controls on your connected device or the Play/Pause and DOWN/UP buttons on the boombox to control playback.
6.5 USB Playback
The unit features a USB 2.0 connection for playing MP3 and WMA files from a USB flash drive.
- Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port.
- Press the MODE / INFO Button repeatedly until "USB" appears on the display.
- The unit will automatically detect and start playing compatible audio files.
- Use the Play/Pause Button to pause or resume playback.
- Use the DOWN or UP buttons to skip tracks. Press and hold to fast forward/rewind.
- Use the ALBUM or DN buttons to navigate between folders on the USB drive.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect the power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- CD Lens Care: If the CD player experiences reading errors, use a commercially available CD lens cleaner disc to clean the lens.
