- The backlight will automatically turn off after a few seconds to conserve battery.
Temperature Unit Selection (°C/°F)
- On the back of the thermometer, locate the small button to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).
Calibration
The TP19H features a calibration function to ensure long-term accuracy. If you suspect the thermometer is not reading accurately, you can recalibrate it using an ice-water bath.
- Prepare a large glass with crushed ice and fill it with water. Stir the mixture and let it sit for 3 minutes to ensure the water reaches 32°F (0°C).
- Insert the thermometer probe into the ice water, ensuring the tip is fully submerged but not touching the bottom or sides of the glass.
- Wait for the reading to stabilize. It should read 32°F (0°C).
- If the reading is not 32°F (0°C), press and hold the CAL button (usually located on the back or side, refer to specific button layout on device) for 3 seconds until the display flashes.
- Use the LOCK or LIGHT buttons to adjust the reading to 32°F (0°C).
- Press the CAL button again to confirm and save the calibration.
