Setup and First Use
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the machine from its packaging. Remove all protective films and accessories.
- Positioning: Place the machine on a stable, level surface, away from water splashes and heat sources. Ensure adequate space around the machine for ventilation.
- Water Tank Preparation: Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Rinse it thoroughly with fresh water. If using the De'Longhi water filter (recommended), install it according to its instructions. Fill the tank with fresh water up to the MAX level and reinsert it into the machine.
- Bean Hopper: Open the lid of the bean hopper and pour fresh coffee beans into it. Close the lid to preserve aroma. The machine is also suitable for pre-ground coffee, which should be added directly into the pre-ground coffee funnel only when preparing a drink.
- Initial Rinse Cycle: Plug the machine into a suitable power outlet. Turn on the machine. The machine will perform an automatic rinse cycle. Place a container under the coffee spout and hot water spout to collect the water. Follow any on-screen prompts or indicator lights.
- Water Hardness Test: Perform the water hardness test using the provided strip (if included) and set the machine accordingly to optimize descaling frequency.
Operating Instructions
Making Coffee from Beans
- Ensure the water tank is filled and the bean hopper contains coffee beans.
- Place one or two cups under the coffee spout. Adjust the spout height to prevent splashing.
- Select your desired coffee beverage from the control panel (e.g., Espresso, Coffee, Long Coffee, Lungo).
- For a stronger coffee, select the "Doppio+" function if available for your chosen drink.
- The machine will grind the beans, pre-brew (aromatic pre-brewing system), and dispense the coffee.
- You can adjust the coffee temperature from low to high via the machine settings.
Using Pre-Ground Coffee
- Ensure the machine is on and ready.
- Open the lid of the pre-ground coffee funnel (usually next to the bean hopper).
- Add one level scoop of pre-ground coffee into the funnel. Do not add more than one scoop to avoid clogging.
- Place a cup under the coffee spout.
- Select the pre-ground coffee function on the control panel (refer to specific icon in your machine's display).
- The machine will dispense the coffee.
Hot Water Function
- Place a cup under the hot water spout.
- Select the hot water function on the control panel.
- The machine will dispense hot water for tea or other beverages.
Milk Frothing (Classic Milk Frother)

- Position the classic milk frother nozzle into the milk.
- Activate the steam function on the control panel.

Daily Cleaning

- Water Tank: Rinse the water tank with fresh water daily.
- Milk Frother: After each use, wipe the milk frother nozzle with a damp cloth and purge a small amount of steam to clear any milk residue.
Weekly / Bi-Weekly Cleaning
- Removable Brewing Unit: The brewing unit should be removed and rinsed under running water at least once a week. Allow it to air dry completely before reinserting. This is crucial for hygiene and machine performance.
- Coffee Spout: Clean the coffee spout with a damp cloth.
Descaling
The machine features an automatic rinse and descaling program. The frequency of descaling depends on water hardness and machine usage. The machine will indicate when descaling is required.
