3. Setup and Initial Charging

3.1 Assembly

  1. Carefully unpack all components from the packaging.
  2. Attach the main body of the vacuum cleaner to the floor nozzle by aligning the connectors and pushing until it clicks into place.
  3. Insert the handle into the top of the main body, ensuring a secure fit.
  4. Ensure the handheld unit is correctly seated within the main body if not already assembled.

3.2 Initial Charging

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off and Speed Settings

Press the power button located on the handle to turn the vacuum cleaner on. Press it again to turn it off. The VCH 9930 offers two speed settings for varying cleaning needs. Press the speed selection button to switch between standard and high power modes.

4.2 Using as a Stick Vacuum

For floor cleaning, ensure the handheld unit is securely docked in the main body. The motorized brush roll in the floor nozzle is effective on various hard ground surfaces. The integrated LED lights on the nozzle illuminate the cleaning path, making dust and debris more visible.

4.3 Using as a Handheld Vacuum

To use the handheld unit, press the release button to detach it from the main stick body. This allows for easy cleaning of furniture, car interiors, stairs, and other elevated or confined spaces. The included crevice tool can be attached to the handheld unit for precise cleaning.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your vacuum cleaner.

5.1 Emptying the Dustbin

  1. Ensure the vacuum cleaner is turned off.
  2. Locate the dustbin release button on the handheld unit.
  3. Press the button to detach the dustbin.
  4. Empty the contents into a waste bin.
  5. Reattach the dustbin securely.

5.2 Cleaning the HEPA Filter

The HEPA filter should be cleaned regularly to maintain suction power. It is recommended to clean the filter after every 3-5 uses, or more frequently depending on usage.

  1. Remove the dustbin as described above.
  2. Carefully remove the HEPA filter from the dustbin.
  3. Tap the filter gently over a waste bin to remove loose dust.
  4. If heavily soiled, rinse the filter under cold running water. Do not use detergents.
  5. Allow the filter to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting. Do not use the vacuum cleaner with a wet filter.

5.3 Cleaning the Brush Roll

Hair and debris can become entangled in the brush roll, reducing its effectiveness. Periodically inspect and clean the brush roll.

  1. Turn off the vacuum cleaner and disconnect it from the charger.
  2. Locate the brush roll access cover on the bottom of the floor nozzle.
  3. Open the cover and remove the brush roll.
  4. Use scissors or a brush to remove any tangled hair or debris.
  5. Reinsert the brush roll and close the access cover securely.
