Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your Kangaroo Home Security System:

1. Download the App: Download the Kangaroo Security app from your device's app store (available for iOS and Android).
2. Create an Account: Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create your account and set up your home profile.
3. Pair Devices:
   • Keypad/Siren: Plug the Keypad/Siren into a standard power outlet. Follow the app's instructions to pair it with your account.
   • Motion + Entry Sensors: Remove the battery tab from each sensor. In the app, select "Add Device" and follow the prompts to pair each sensor individually.
4. Install Sensors:
   • Motion + Entry Sensors: These sensors detect both motion and entry. Mount them on doors or windows using the self-adhesive backing. Ensure the two parts of the sensor are aligned and within 1 inch (2.5 cm) of each other when the door or window is closed.

   • Keypad/Siren Placement: Place the Keypad/Siren in a central location where the siren can be heard throughout your home and where you can easily access it for arming/disarming.

5. Apply Deterrents: Place the yard sign and window stickers in visible locations outside your home to deter potential intruders.

Operating Instructions

The Kangaroo Home Security System can be operated via the mobile app or the Keypad/Siren.

Arming the System

• Via App: Open the Kangaroo Security app, select your home, and tap the "Arm" button. You can choose between "Home" (motion sensors off) or "Away" (all sensors active) modes.
• Via Keypad: Enter your PIN on the Keypad/Siren and press the "Arm" button. Alternatively, tap a paired Roo Tag on the Keypad/Siren to arm the system.

Disarming the System

• Via App: Open the Kangaroo Security app and tap the "Disarm" button.
• Via Keypad: Enter your PIN on the Keypad/Siren and press the "Disarm" button. Alternatively, tap a paired Roo Tag on the Keypad/Siren to disarm the system.

Roo Tags

Each Roo Tag is an RFID keychain that allows for quick arming and disarming by tapping it against the Keypad/Siren.

Notifications

The system sends instant notifications to your smartphone when sensors are triggered or system status changes.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

• Motion + Entry Sensors: These sensors are battery-powered. When the app indicates a low battery, replace the batteries with new alkaline batteries of the specified type (typically CR2032 coin cells). Refer to the sensor's compartment for exact battery type.

• False Alarms: Ensure sensors are installed correctly and not in areas prone to false triggers (e.g., direct sunlight, near heating/cooling vents, or in high-traffic areas for motion sensors if pet-friendly mode is not active or configured).
• System Unresponsive: If the system is unresponsive, check power connections for the Keypad/Siren and ensure your home Wi-Fi is operational. Restarting the Keypad/Siren by unplugging and replugging it may resolve minor issues.
