5. Setup

  1. Insert Battery: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the clock. Insert one new 1.5V AA alkaline battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -). Rechargeable batteries are not suitable for this model.
  2. Initial Hand Movement: After inserting the battery, the clock hands will automatically move to the 12 o'clock position. They will remain there until the clock receives the radio signal.
  3. Signal Reception:
    • Place the clock in a location with good radio signal reception. Ideally, position it near a window, away from potential interference sources such as electronic radiation, televisions, or computer monitors.
    • The clock will automatically search for the DCF radio signal. This process can take several minutes.
    • If the clock does not set itself within approximately 5 minutes, leave it in its chosen location, preferably overnight. The DCF signal is often strongest and most stable during the night.
    • Patience is key during the initial setup. Avoid pressing any buttons during the setting process, as this can interrupt signal reception.
  4. Mounting: Once the clock has successfully set itself to the correct time, you can mount it on a wall using the integrated hanging mechanism on the back.

6. Operating

Your Eurotime radio-controlled wall clock operates automatically once the initial setup is complete and it has received the DCF radio signal.

  • Automatic Time Synchronization: The clock continuously receives the DCF signal, ensuring that the time displayed is always accurate to the second.
  • Automatic Summer/Winter Time Change: The clock automatically adjusts for daylight saving time (summer time) and standard time (winter time) changes, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.

No further manual operation is required under normal circumstances.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: To clean the clock, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the casing or glass.
  • Battery Replacement: When the second hand stops or the clock constantly resets itself, it is an indication that the battery is low and needs to be replaced. Follow the steps in the "Setup" section to replace the battery with a new 1.5V AA alkaline battery.
  • Disposal: Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations. Do not dispose of batteries in household waste.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Relocate the clock, preferably near a window, away from TVs, computers, or other electronic devices.
  • Allow the clock to search for the signal overnight, as signal strength is often better.
  • Avoid pressing buttons during the setting process.
Second hand stops or clock constantly resets.Battery is low or exhausted.Replace the battery with a new 1.5V AA alkaline battery. Follow the battery insertion steps in the "Setup" section.
Hands are not aligned correctly after setting.Interruption during initial signal reception or manual interference.Remove the battery, wait a few seconds, then reinsert a new battery. Allow the clock to re-initiate the signal search process without interruption.
