2. Safety Instructions
Always observe basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.
- Work Area Safety: Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Electrical Safety: Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
- Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection, hearing protection, and suitable work gloves. Dress properly; avoid loose clothing or jewelry.
- Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
- Battery Use: Use only with Einhell Power X-Change 18V battery packs. Do not use non-rechargeable batteries.
3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
The Einhell TE-CD 18/2 Li-Solo is supplied without a battery and charger. Ensure you have a compatible Einhell Power X-Change 18V battery and charger.
- Ensure the tool is switched off.
- Slide the charged battery pack into the base of the tool until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove, press the release button on the battery pack and slide it out.

3.2 Chuck Operation (Changing Bits)
The drill driver features a keyless auto-tightening chuck for quick and easy bit changes.
- Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws.
- Insert the drill bit or screwdriver bit fully into the chuck.
- Rotate the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws securely around the bit. Ensure the bit is centered and firmly held.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On/Off and Speed Control
The trigger switch controls the tool's operation. Press the trigger to start, release to stop. The speed is variable depending on how far the trigger is pressed.
4.2 Gear Selection
The drill driver features a 2-speed gearbox:
- Gear 1 (Low Speed, High Torque): Ideal for screwdriving and drilling large diameters.
- Gear 2 (High Speed, Lower Torque): Suitable for drilling smaller diameters and faster work.
Select the desired gear using the gear selector switch located on top of the tool. Always change gears when the tool is stationary to prevent damage.
4.3 Torque Setting
The torque pre-selection ring allows you to set the desired torque level (21 settings) to prevent over-tightening screws or damaging materials. For drilling, set the ring to the drill symbol.

4.4 LED Work Light
An integrated LED light illuminates the work area, improving visibility in dimly lit conditions. The light activates when the trigger is pressed.

5. Maintenance

- Cleaning: Keep the ventilation slots clean to prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris. Do not use water or chemical cleaners.
- Chuck Maintenance: Periodically clean the chuck jaws to ensure proper gripping of bits.
- Storage: Store the tool and battery in a dry, frost-free place, out of reach of children. Remove the battery from the tool during storage.
6. Troubleshooting
