1. Setup

1.1 Unpacking and Power Connection

  1. Carefully remove the printer from its packaging. Remove all packing materials, tapes, and protective films from the exterior and interior of the printer.
  2. Connect the power cord to the rear of the printer and then to a grounded electrical outlet.
  3. Press the Power button to turn on the printer.

1.2 Ink Cartridge Installation

The HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 5075 uses HP 680 Tri-Color and Black Original Ink Cartridges. Ensure you use genuine HP cartridges for optimal performance.

  1. Open the ink cartridge access door. The carriage will move to the center.
  2. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before proceeding.
  3. Gently press down on the old cartridge to release it, then pull it out.
  4. Remove the new HP 680 cartridge from its packaging. Pull the orange pull tab to remove the protective tape. Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles.
  5. Slide the new cartridge into its slot until it clicks into place. The black cartridge goes into the right slot, and the tri-color cartridge goes into the left slot.
  6. Close the ink cartridge access door.

1.3 Paper Loading

  1. Lower the output tray, then pull out the input tray.
  2. Slide the paper width guides outward.
  3. Load a stack of plain white paper into the input tray with the print side facing down.
  4. Slide the paper width guides inward until they rest against the edges of the paper.
  5. Push the input tray back into the printer.

For full functionality, install the HP Smart App on your smartphone or tablet, or download the latest drivers from the official HP website for your computer.
