4. Setup and Installation

The Britax Skyline booster seat can be used in two modes: Highback and Backless.

4.1 Highback Booster Mode Installation

  1. Place the booster seat firmly on the vehicle's seat.
  2. Attach the premium quick-push lower connectors to the vehicle's lower anchors (LATCH system) if available. This secures the booster when unoccupied.
  3. Ensure the booster seat is stable and does not move excessively.
  4. Seat your child in the booster seat.
  5. Route the vehicle's lap belt through the red lap belt guides on the booster seat, ensuring it lies low across the child's hips and touches the thighs.
  6. Route the vehicle's shoulder belt through the red shoulder belt guide near the child's shoulder, ensuring it lies flat across the shoulder and chest.
  7. Buckle the vehicle's seat belt and pull to remove any slack.

4.2 Backless Booster Mode Conversion and Installation

To convert to backless mode, detach the backrest from the booster base. Refer to the product's physical manual for specific release mechanisms, typically involving latches or buttons at the base of the backrest.

  1. Once converted, place the backless booster firmly on the vehicle's seat.
  2. Attach the premium quick-push lower connectors to the vehicle's lower anchors (LATCH system) if available.
  3. Seat your child in the backless booster.
  4. Route the vehicle's lap belt through the red lap belt guides on the booster base, ensuring it lies low across the child's hips and touches the thighs.
  5. The vehicle's shoulder belt should be positioned across the child's shoulder and chest. If the shoulder belt does not fit properly, use the included shoulder belt positioning clip (if applicable) to adjust its height.
  6. Buckle the vehicle's seat belt and pull to remove any slack.

5. Operation and Adjustments

5.1 Headrest Adjustment

The 10-position quick-adjust headrest allows you to easily customize the fit for your growing child. To adjust, locate the adjustment lever or button on the back or top of the headrest. Squeeze or press the lever/button and slide the headrest up or down to the desired height. Ensure the headrest is locked into position before each use.
