2. Important Safety Instructions

4. Setup and Initial Use
4.1 Assembly
The Triflex HX1 can be assembled in three different configurations:
- Comfort Mode (PowerUnit at the bottom): Ideal for large areas. Attach the PowerUnit (motor and dust container) to the bottom of the suction tube, then attach the electro brush. This configuration provides a low center of gravity for effortless cleaning.
- Reach Mode (PowerUnit at the top): For cleaning under furniture or high areas. Attach the PowerUnit to the top of the suction tube, then attach the electro brush. This allows for maximum reach.
- Handheld Mode (Compact): For quick clean-ups or car interiors. Use the PowerUnit directly with an accessory nozzle (crevice, upholstery, or dusting brush).

4.2 Charging the Battery
Before first use, fully charge the battery. The interchangeable VARTA Li-Ion battery can be charged either while installed in the vacuum cleaner or separately. The charging time is approximately 240 minutes (4 hours) for a full charge.
- Connect the charging cable to the power supply and plug it into a wall outlet.
- Connect the charging cable to the charging port on the battery or the vacuum cleaner.
- The charging indicator lights will show the charging status.

5. Operating the Vacuum Cleaner
5.1 Power On/Off and Suction Levels
Press the power button to turn the vacuum cleaner on or off. The Triflex HX1 features three power levels:
- Power Level 1: For light cleaning tasks and maximum runtime.
- Power Level 2: Standard cleaning for everyday dirt.
- Power Level 3: Maximum suction for stubborn dirt and deep cleaning.
Press the power level button to cycle through the different settings.
5.2 Using the Electro Brush
The XXL electro brush is designed for effective cleaning on various floor types. It features a backlight to illuminate the cleaning area. The brush automatically adjusts its power when transitioning between hard floors and carpets.

5.3 Runtime Information
Approximate runtimes per charge (with electro brush):
- Power Level 1: Up to 34 minutes
- Power Level 2: Up to 25 minutes
- Power Level 3: Up to 17 minutes
Without the electro brush, Power Level 1 can provide up to 60 minutes of runtime. The total cleaning area covered can be up to 125 m² (using Power Level 1 with electro brush).
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
6.1 Emptying the Dust Container
The dust container has a capacity of 0.5 liters. Empty it regularly to maintain optimal suction performance. To empty:
- Ensure the vacuum cleaner is switched off and the battery is removed.
- Locate the release button for the dust container.
- Remove the dust container and empty its contents into a waste bin.
- Reattach the dust container securely.

6.2 Cleaning the HEPA Filter
The Triflex HX1 is equipped with a HEPA filter, offering a filtration rate of >99.999%. This filter requires periodic cleaning to ensure efficient operation and air quality. Refer to the full instruction manual for detailed filter cleaning procedures, which typically involve tapping out dust or rinsing under water, depending on the filter type.
6.3 Cleaning the Electro Brush
Periodically check the electro brush for tangled hair or debris. To clean:
- Ensure the vacuum cleaner is switched off and the battery is removed.
- Detach the electro brush from the suction tube.
- Use scissors or a brush to remove any hair or fibers wrapped around the brush roll.
- Reattach the electro brush.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Miele Triflex HX1, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
