- Connect the Mouse: Locate an available USB port on your computer (desktop PC, laptop, etc.). Insert the USB connector of the PIAVO mouse firmly into the USB port.
- System Recognition: Your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux) should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers for the mouse. This process usually takes a few seconds.
- Test Functionality: Once recognized, move the mouse to check cursor movement. Click the left and right buttons, and scroll the wheel to ensure basic functions are working.
If the mouse does not respond, try connecting it to a different USB port or restarting your computer.

Ergonomic Posture: When using the mouse, ensure your wrist remains straight and relaxed. The vertical design is intended to align your hand and forearm in a natural, neutral position, similar to a handshake. Avoid twisting your wrist.
6. Maintenance
Proper care and maintenance will extend the lifespan of your PIAVO Ergonomic Vertical Mouse.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe the surface of the mouse. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid excessive moisture and never immerse the mouse in liquid.
- Sensor Care: Keep the optical sensor on the underside of the mouse clean and free from dust or debris to ensure accurate tracking.
- Cable Management: Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the USB cable. Store the cable neatly when not in use to prevent damage.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the mouse in a clean, dry environment away from extreme temperatures.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your PIAVO Ergonomic Vertical Mouse, refer to the following common solutions:
- Mouse Not Responding:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely plugged into a working USB port on your computer.
- Try plugging the mouse into a different USB port.
- Restart your computer.
- Test the mouse on another computer to determine if the issue is with the mouse or your system.
- Cursor Movement is Erratic or Jumpy:
- Clean the optical sensor on the underside of the mouse with a soft, dry cloth.
- Ensure you are using the mouse on a clean, non-reflective, and uniform surface (e.g., a mouse pad).
- DPI Setting Resets After Restart:
- Some operating systems or specific configurations may not retain the last DPI setting after a system restart or power cycle. This is a characteristic of some plug-and-play mice that do not have onboard memory for settings. You may need to press the DPI button to select your preferred sensitivity each time you start your computer.
- There is no visual indicator for the current DPI setting; you will need to observe the cursor speed to determine the active DPI level.
- Buttons Not Functioning:
- Verify that the mouse is properly connected.
- Check your operating system's mouse settings to ensure buttons are enabled and configured correctly.
