Product Overview
This manual provides instructions for the PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller, designed for use with Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite consoles. This controller offers wireless freedom via Bluetooth 5.0, motion controls, and mappable Advanced Gaming Buttons, all within an ergonomic design featuring a standard button layout and a unique Pokémon Sword theme.
The controller operates using two AA batteries, providing up to 30 hours of gameplay. It is an officially licensed product by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International.

Setup
Inserting Batteries
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the controller.
- Remove the battery cover by sliding it downwards.
- Insert the two (2) included AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

Pairing with Nintendo Switch
- Ensure your Nintendo Switch console is powered on and updated to the latest system version.
- From the HOME Menu, select Controllers, then Change Grip/Order.
- On the controller, press and hold the SYNC Button for at least three seconds. The Player Indicator LED(s) will begin to flash.
- Once paired, the Player Indicator LED(s) corresponding to the controller number will remain solid.
- The controller is now ready for use.
Note: After initial pairing, the controller will automatically connect to your Nintendo Switch when powered on and within range. Press any button to wake the controller.
Operating the Controller
Button Layout
The PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller features a standard button layout for intuitive gameplay.

- Left/Right Analog Sticks: For movement and camera control.
- D-Pad: Directional input.
- A/B/X/Y Buttons: Action buttons.
- L/R Buttons: Shoulder buttons.
- ZL/ZR Buttons: Trigger buttons.
- +/- Buttons: Start/Select functions.
- HOME Button: Returns to the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu.
- CAPTURE Button: Takes screenshots or video clips.
- SYNC Button: Used for pairing.
Advanced Gaming Buttons (AGB)
The controller includes two mappable Advanced Gaming Buttons on the back for custom control configurations.
- Press the Program Button on the back of the controller. The Program LED will flash.
- Press the button you wish to map (A/B/X/Y, L/R, ZL/ZR, D-pad, Left/Right Stick Click). The Program LED will flash rapidly.
- Press one of the Advanced Gaming Buttons (AGB) (L or R) to complete the mapping. The Program LED will turn off, indicating successful mapping.
Note: Mappings remain in memory even after disconnecting. To clear mappings, hold the Program Button for 5 seconds.
Motion Controls
This controller supports motion controls for games that utilize this feature on the Nintendo Switch.
Maintenance
Cleaning
To clean the controller, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Avoid getting moisture into any openings.
Battery Replacement
When the Low Battery Indicator LED flashes, it is time to replace the AA batteries. Follow the "Inserting Batteries" steps in the Setup section.
Always dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
Troubleshooting
- Controller not pairing:
- Ensure the controller has fresh batteries.
- Verify the Nintendo Switch is updated to the latest system software.
- Try re-pairing the controller by holding the SYNC button for 3 seconds while on the "Change Grip/Order" screen.
- Move closer to the Nintendo Switch console to ensure proper Bluetooth range.
- Buttons not responding:
- Check battery level.
- Ensure the controller is properly paired.
- Restart the Nintendo Switch console.
- Advanced Gaming Buttons not working:
- Ensure the mapping process was completed correctly (Program LED turns off).
- Try re-mapping the buttons.
- Clear existing mappings by holding the Program Button for 5 seconds, then remap.
