Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all listed items from the 'Product Components' section are present. The microscope and its accessories are securely packed in protective foam.
  2. Power Connection:
    • The microscope can be powered via the included AC adapter or 3 AA batteries (not included).
    • To use the AC adapter, connect it to the power input port at the rear of the microscope and plug it into a standard electrical outlet.
    • To use batteries, open the battery compartment at the base and insert 3 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.

  3. Eyepiece Installation:
    • Insert the desired eyepiece (WF10X or WF25X) firmly into the monocular head.
    • For increased magnification, the 2X Barlow lens can be inserted into the monocular head before the eyepiece.

  4. Smartphone Adapter Attachment:
    • Attach the smartphone adapter securely to the eyepiece.
    • Gently secure your smartphone onto the adapter, ensuring the phone's camera lens is perfectly aligned with the adapter's opening for clear viewing and capturing.

Operating Instructions

  1. Turning On/Off: Locate the power switch on the side of the microscope base. Flip it to the 'ON' position to activate the illumination.
  2. Placing a Specimen Slide:
    • Place a prepared slide or your own specimen onto the stage.
    • Use the stage clips to gently secure the slide in place.

  3. Adjusting Magnification:
    • Rotate the revolving nosepiece to select the desired objective lens (4X, 10X, 40X).
    • The total magnification is calculated by multiplying the eyepiece magnification by the objective lens magnification (e.g., WF10X eyepiece * 40X objective = 400X total magnification).

  4. Focusing:
    • Use the coarse adjustment knob (larger knob) to bring the specimen into approximate focus.
    • Use the fine adjustment knob (smaller knob) for precise focusing and to achieve a clear image.

Figure 7: The microscope features both coarse and fine adjustment knobs for precise focusing.
  5. Illumination Control:
    • The microscope has dual illumination: a top light source for opaque objects and a bottom light source for transparent specimens.
    • Use the light switch to select between top, bottom, or both light sources.
    • Adjust the brightness using the dimmable light control.

  6. Using the Color Filter:
    • Rotate the dial-type 6-color filter located beneath the stage to enhance contrast or view specimens in different colors.
  7. Adjusting Viewing Angle:
    • The monocular head can be rotated 360 degrees for comfortable viewing from various positions.
    • The eye tube is inclined at 45 degrees for ergonomic viewing, reducing strain during prolonged observation.

Maintenance and Care

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your BEBANG microscope, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning Lenses: Use the provided cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Gently wipe the lenses to remove dust or smudges. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • General Cleaning: Wipe the microscope body with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the internal components.
  • Storage: When not in use, cover the microscope with a dust cover (if available) or store it in its original packaging to protect it from dust and environmental factors. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Always carry the microscope by its arm and base. Avoid sudden movements or impacts.
