4. Setup

4.1. Installation

The Winegard GW-1000 Gateway is designed for a simple DIY installation directly onto your RV ceiling, positioned underneath the Winegard Air 360+ antenna. The Air 360+ antenna is required for the Gateway to function and is sold separately or may be pre-installed by your RV manufacturer.

  1. Locate the ceiling cap directly beneath your Winegard Air 360+ antenna inside your RV.
  2. Carefully remove the ceiling cap to expose the wiring.
  3. Attach the necessary wires from the Gateway to the corresponding connections. Refer to the detailed wiring diagram in the included printed documentation for specific connections.
  4. Secure the Gateway unit using the provided mounting plate and installation hardware. Ensure it is firmly attached to the RV ceiling.

4.2. SIM Card Installation

The Gateway supports cellular data connectivity via SIM cards. It features multiple SIM card slots for flexibility with various carriers.

  1. Locate the SIM card slots on the underside of the Gateway unit.
  2. Insert your activated SIM card (from Winegard FreedomGO, Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile) into an available slot. Ensure the SIM card is correctly oriented as indicated on the device.
  3. Gently push the SIM card until it clicks into place.

4.3. Power Connection

The Gateway utilizes the inserted SIM card to provide 4G LTE internet access. It supports a maximum download speed of 150 Mbps. Ensure your SIM card has an active data plan from a supported carrier (Winegard FreedomGO, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) for cellular internet access.
