Setup

1. Power Connection

Plug the included power adapter into the Echo (4th Gen) and then into a wall outlet. The light ring at the bottom of your Echo will turn blue, then orange, indicating it's ready for setup.

2. Download the Alexa App

On your mobile device (Fire OS, Android, or iOS), download and install the Amazon Alexa app from your device's app store. This app is essential for setting up and managing your Echo device.

3. Connect to Wi-Fi

Open the Alexa app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Echo to your Wi-Fi network. The Echo (4th Gen) supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz). Amazon Wi-Fi simple setup enables a quick connection process.

4. Device Registration

Once connected to Wi-Fi, the Alexa app will guide you through registering your device to your Amazon account and personalizing settings such as your location and preferred language (English and Spanish are supported).
