4. Safety Instructions
To ensure safe operation and prevent damage to the device or injury, please observe the following safety guidelines:
- Always connect the power supply to a grounded outlet.
- Do not operate the device in wet or damp conditions.
- Ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating. Do not block ventilation openings.
- Do not exceed the maximum input voltage (75V) or output power (300W).
- Before making any connections or disconnections, ensure the power supply is turned off and disconnected from the main power source.
- Avoid short-circuiting the output terminals.
- Only qualified personnel should attempt to service or repair the device.
- Keep the device away from flammable materials and explosive environments.
5. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your DPM8605 power supply:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the DPM8605 from its packaging and inspect it for any signs of damage.
- Placement: Place the power supply on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation space around it. Ensure it is not exposed to direct sunlight, excessive dust, or vibrations.
- Input Power Connection: Connect a suitable DC power source (10V to 75V) to the input terminals labeled IN+ and IN-. Observe correct polarity.
- Output Load Connection: Connect your load to the output terminals labeled OUT+ and OUT-. Ensure the load's voltage and current requirements are within the DPM8605's specifications.
- RS-232 Connection (Optional): For computer control, connect a compatible RS-232 cable from the power supply's TTL interface to your computer. Install the necessary software and drivers as provided by Joy-it.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Use the ON/OFF switch located on the side of the unit to power the device on or off.
- Setting Voltage and Current:
- Press the SET button to enter parameter setting mode.
- Use the arrow buttons (▲ / ▼) to navigate between voltage and current settings.
- Use the left/right arrow buttons to select the digit to adjust.
- Use the up/down arrow buttons to change the value of the selected digit.
- Press OK to confirm the setting and exit parameter setting mode.
- Constant Voltage (CV) and Constant Current (CC) Modes: The device automatically switches between CV and CC modes depending on the load and the set voltage/current limits.
- When operating in CV mode, the output voltage is maintained at the set value, and the current varies with the load. The CV indicator LED will be lit.
- When operating in CC mode, the output current is maintained at the set value, and the voltage varies with the load. This occurs when the load resistance is too low for the set voltage, causing the current to reach its set limit. The CC indicator LED will be lit.
6.2. Remote Control via TTL Interface (RS-232)
The DPM8605 can be controlled remotely via its TTL (RS-232) interface. This allows for integration into automated systems or control from a computer using dedicated software.
- Ensure the RS-232 cable is securely connected between the power supply and your computer.
- Install the official Joy-it software and drivers for the DPM8605. Refer to the software's documentation for installation and usage instructions.
- Through the software, you can set voltage, current, monitor output, and configure other parameters.

7. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your DPM8605 power supply:
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquids enter the device.
- Ventilation: Keep the ventilation openings clear of dust and obstructions to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the power supply in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect cables and connections for any signs of wear or damage. Replace damaged components immediately.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on. | No input power; incorrect input voltage; power switch off. | Check input power source and connections. Ensure input voltage is within 10-75V. Verify the ON/OFF switch is in the 'ON' position. |
| No output voltage/current. | Output disabled; incorrect settings; open circuit in load. | Ensure output is enabled (if applicable via software). Check set voltage/current limits. Verify load connections are secure and not open-circuited. |
| Output voltage/current is unstable. | Poor connections; excessive load; interference. | Check all input and output connections for looseness. Ensure load is within specified limits. Relocate device away from strong electromagnetic interference. |
| Overheating. | Blocked ventilation; excessive ambient temperature; prolonged high load. | Ensure ventilation grilles are clear. Operate within specified temperature range (-1°C to 45°C). Reduce load or allow for cooling periods. |
| RS-232 communication failure. | Incorrect cable; driver issues; software configuration. | Verify correct RS-232 cable. Reinstall drivers. Check software communication settings (COM port, baud rate). |
