2. Safety Information

Always prioritize your child's safety. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.

• Age and Weight Requirements: This child seat is suitable for children weighing 9 kg to 36 kg, approximately 12 months to 12 years of age, and up to 125 cm in height.
• Installation: This seat is designed for forward-facing installation using the vehicle's 3-point seatbelt system. Ensure the seatbelt is routed correctly and securely fastened.

4. Setup and Installation

This child seat is installed using your vehicle's 3-point seatbelt. Follow these general steps for secure installation:

1. Position the Seat: Place the child seat on the vehicle's rear seat, ensuring it sits flat against the vehicle's backrest.
2. Route the Seatbelt: Follow the red belt guides on the child seat to correctly route the vehicle's 3-point seatbelt. The lap belt portion should pass through the guides near the child's hips, and the shoulder belt portion through the guide near the child's shoulder.
3. Buckle and Tighten: Buckle the vehicle's seatbelt and pull the shoulder belt firmly to remove any slack. The child seat should be securely held in place with minimal movement.
4. Check for Security: After installation, firmly push and pull the child seat at the belt path. It should not move more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) side-to-side or front-to-back.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Adjusting the Headrest and Harness

1. Locate the adjustment lever at the back of the headrest.
2. Squeeze the lever and simultaneously raise or lower the headrest to the desired height. The shoulder belts will adjust automatically with the headrest.
3. Ensure the shoulder belts are at or slightly above your child's shoulders.

5.2 Securing Your Child with the 5-Point Harness

1. Place your child in the seat.
2. Bring the shoulder straps over your child's shoulders and connect the two buckle tongues into the central buckle until you hear a click.

5.3 Transitioning to Junior Seat Mode

When your child outgrows the 5-point harness (typically above 18 kg or when their shoulders are above the highest harness slot), you can convert the J1 Select into a high-back booster seat.

1. Unbuckle the 5-point harness.
2. Store the harness straps and buckle tongues in the designated compartments within the seat. Refer to the seat's labels for exact storage locations.
3. Ensure the headrest is adjusted to the correct height so the vehicle's shoulder belt rests properly across your child's shoulder, not on their neck or off their arm.

5.4 Using the Cup Holders
