6. Installation Instructions
6.1 Before You Begin
- Turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
- Ensure the mounting surface is structurally sound and can support the fixture's weight.
- Wear appropriate safety gear (e.g., safety glasses, gloves).
6.2 Mounting the Fixture
- Attach the mounting plate to the junction box using the provided screws. Ensure the plate is flush against the surface.
- Pull the electrical wires from the junction box through the center hole of the mounting plate.

6.3 Wiring Connections
- Connect the green ground wire from the fixture to the household ground wire (usually bare copper or green) using a wire nut.
- Connect the white neutral wire from the fixture to the household neutral wire (usually white) using a wire nut.
- Connect the black hot wire from the fixture to the household hot wire (usually black) using a wire nut.
- Carefully tuck all wires into the junction box.
6.4 Securing the Fixture
- Align the fixture with the mounting plate and secure it with the provided screws.
- Ensure the fixture is tightly sealed against the mounting surface to prevent water intrusion.
6.5 Adjusting Light Heads and Sensor
The two LED light heads and the motion sensor can be adjusted independently to cover the desired area.
- Loosen the adjustment screws on the light heads and sensor.
- Position them to the desired angle.
- Tighten the screws to secure their position.

7. Operation and Settings
After installation, restore power to the fixture. The motion sensor has adjustable controls for sensitivity and lighting duration.
7.1 Sensor Controls
The control dials are located on the underside of the motion sensor unit.

Figure 7.1: Detailed view of the control dials on the motion sensor, allowing adjustment of lighting duration and detection range.
- TIME Knob: Adjusts how long the light stays on after motion is detected. Settings range from 10 seconds to 10 minutes. Rotate clockwise for longer duration, counter-clockwise for shorter.
- SENS (Sensitivity) Knob: Adjusts the detection range of the motion sensor, from approximately 0 to 72 feet. Rotate clockwise for greater sensitivity/range, counter-clockwise for less.
- TEST Mode: A specific setting on the TIME knob (often marked 'Test') allows for quick testing of the sensor's detection area. In test mode, the light will turn on for a few seconds each time motion is detected, regardless of ambient light.

8. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your security light.
- Cleaning: Clean the fixture periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or electrical components.
- Inspection: Periodically check for loose wiring, damaged insulation, or signs of wear. Address any issues promptly.
- Heat Dissipation: The aluminum housing is designed for efficient heat dissipation. Ensure no obstructions block the heat sinks on the back of the light heads.

9. Troubleshooting
If your security light is not functioning as expected, refer to the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on at night. | 1. Power is off. 2. Sensor is blocked. 3. TIME or SENS settings are too low. 4. Ambient light is too high. | 1. Check circuit breaker. 2. Clear obstructions from sensor. 3. Adjust TIME and SENS knobs. 4. Relocate fixture or shield sensor from external light sources. |
| Light stays on continuously. | 1. Constant motion in detection area. 2. Wiring error. 3. Sensor malfunction. | 1. Reduce SENS setting or adjust sensor angle. 2. Verify wiring connections. 3. Contact customer support if issue persists. |
| Light flashes on and off. | 1. Intermittent power. 2. Sensor detecting small, distant movements. 3. Voltage fluctuations. | 1. Check power supply. 2. Reduce SENS setting. 3. Consult an electrician if voltage issues are suspected. |
| Detection range is too short or too long. | SENS knob is incorrectly set. | Adjust the SENS knob to the desired range. |
