Setup

Repeater Mode Setup

  1. Plug the repeater into a power outlet near your existing router.
  2. Wait for the power indicator light to stabilize.
  3. On your computer or mobile device, connect to the repeater's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "PIXLINK_XXXX").
  4. Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.254) or domain name (e.g., ap.setup).
  5. Log in using the default username and password (usually admin/admin).
  6. Follow the on-screen wizard to select "Repeater Mode".
  7. Choose your existing Wi-Fi network from the list and enter its password.
  8. Configure the repeater's Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password, or keep them the same as your main network.
  9. Save the settings and wait for the repeater to restart.
  10. Relocate the repeater to a suitable location between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone for optimal signal extension.

AP Mode Setup (Access Point)

  1. Plug the repeater into a power outlet.
  2. Connect the repeater to your router using an Ethernet cable.
  3. Follow steps 3-6 from Repeater Mode Setup.
  4. Select "AP Mode" and configure the new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
  5. Save the settings and wait for the repeater to restart.

Operating

Once configured, the PIX LINK 2800M WiFi Repeater will automatically extend your wireless network.

Indicator Lights

  • Power LED: Solid green indicates the device is powered on.
  • WLAN LED: Blinking indicates active wireless data transmission.
  • LAN LED: Solid green indicates an active Ethernet connection.
  • Signal LED: Indicates the strength of the signal received from the main router (e.g., green for strong, yellow for medium, red for weak).

Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Do not block the ventilation holes on the device.
  • Periodically check for firmware updates on the manufacturer's website to ensure optimal performance and security.

Troubleshooting

No Internet Access After Setup

  • Ensure the repeater is within effective range of your main router.
  • Verify that you entered the correct Wi-Fi password for your main network during setup.
  • Try restarting both your main router and the repeater.
  • Check the Signal LED on the repeater; if it's red, move the repeater closer to the main router.

Cannot Access Web Management Page

  • Ensure your device is connected to the repeater's Wi-Fi network or via Ethernet.
  • Verify the IP address or domain name entered in the browser.
  • Try clearing your browser's cache or using a different browser.
  • Reset the repeater to factory defaults (refer to the Quick Installation Guide for specific instructions) and try setup again.
