Follow these steps to set up your VITCOCO Visual Ear Otoscope for first-time use.

1. App Installation & Compatibility

The otoscope requires a companion application for viewing the live feed. It is compatible with iOS, Android, and PC devices.

2. Connecting the Otoscope

The otoscope supports both WiFi and wired connections depending on your model and device.

WiFi Connection (for models with WiFi box):
  1. Ensure the WiFi box is charged.
  2. Long press the power button on the WiFi box to turn it on.
  3. Connect the otoscope camera to the WiFi box.
  4. On your smartphone, go to WiFi settings and connect to the network named "YPC" or similar (refer to the WiFi box label).
  5. Open the "Inskam" or "Imagekit" app. The live feed from the otoscope should now be visible.
Wired Connection (for models with direct USB cable):
  1. Connect the otoscope's USB cable directly to your smartphone using the appropriate adapter (Micro USB or Type-C). For PC, connect directly to a USB port.
  2. Ensure your device supports OTG (On-The-Go) functionality for Android.
  3. Open the "Inskam" or "Imagekit" app (or PC software). The live feed from the otoscope should now be visible.

Operating Instructions

Once connected, the otoscope provides a clear visual of the area being examined. Always use the device carefully and follow safety guidelines.

1. Adjusting LED Brightness

The otoscope features adjustable LED lights to provide optimal illumination for clear viewing. Locate the brightness adjusting wheel on the cable and rotate it to increase or decrease the light intensity.

2. Visual Examination

3. Using Ear Wax Removal Tools

For ear wax removal, attach the appropriate silicone or metal ear pick to the tip of the otoscope. Use extreme caution and gentle movements to avoid injury. It is recommended to consult a medical professional for significant ear wax buildup or if you are unsure about safe removal practices.

Maintenance and Care

1. Cleaning the Otoscope Camera

The ear camera is rated IP67 waterproof, making it easy to clean and sanitary. After each use, gently wipe the camera lens and tip with a soft, damp cloth or an alcohol wipe. For thorough cleaning, the camera tip can be washed with water.

2. Cleaning Ear Picks

No Image/Connection Issue:
  • Ensure the device (WiFi box or otoscope cable) is properly connected to your smartphone/PC.
  • For WiFi models, verify that your phone is connected to the otoscope's specific WiFi network (e.g., "YPC").
  • Ensure the companion app is open and has the necessary permissions (camera, storage, WiFi).
  • Restart the app and the otoscope device.

Blurry Image:
  • The otoscope has a fixed focal length. Ensure the camera tip is at the optimal distance from the object being viewed (typically 1-2 cm).
  • Clean the camera lens carefully with a soft cloth or alcohol wipe.
LED Lights Not Working:
  • Check the LED brightness adjusting wheel on the cable to ensure it's not set to the lowest intensity.
