4. Setup and Initial Use

4.1 Unpacking

  • Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
  • Check that all parts are present and undamaged.

4.2 First Cleaning

Before first use, clean all removable parts (water tank, portafilter, filter inserts, drip tray, milk jug) with warm water and a mild detergent. Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth.

4.3 Filling the Water Tank

  • Remove the water tank from the back of the machine.
  • Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the MAX mark.
  • Place the water tank back securely.

4.4 Priming the Machine

To prime the pump and remove any air from the system:

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Place a cup under the portafilter outlet (without coffee).
  3. Press the power button to turn on the machine.
  4. Once the machine is heated (indicator light stable), press the single espresso button. Let water run through until the cup is full. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
  5. Open the steam knob and let water flow through the steam wand for a few seconds to prime the steam system. Close the knob.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Making Espresso

  1. Ensure the machine is powered on and preheated (indicator light stable).
  2. Select the appropriate filter insert (single or double shot) and place it into the portafilter.
  3. Using the dosing spoon, add finely ground espresso coffee to the filter. For a single shot, use one level spoon; for a double, use two.
  4. Use the metal tamper to press the coffee firmly and evenly. Ensure the surface is level.
  5. Wipe any excess coffee from the rim of the portafilter.
  6. Insert the portafilter into the brewing head and turn it to the right until it locks securely.
  7. Place one or two preheated cups on the drip tray beneath the portafilter spouts.
  8. Press the single or double espresso button. The machine will start brewing.
  9. Monitor the integrated manometer for optimal extraction pressure (typically between 9-12 bar).
  10. The machine will automatically stop when the programmed quantity is reached.

5.2 Using ESE Pods

  • Use the dedicated ESE pod filter insert.
  • Place one ESE pod into the filter insert.
  • Follow steps 5-10 from 'Making Espresso'.

5.3 Frothing Milk

  1. Fill the stainless steel milk frothing jug with cold milk (do not exceed half full).
  2. Press the steam button on the control panel. The steam indicator light will flash while heating, then become steady when ready.
  3. Position the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
  4. Turn the steam knob to release steam. Move the jug up and down to create foam.
  5. Once desired foam and temperature are reached, turn off the steam knob.
  6. Immediately clean the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

5.4 Dispensing Hot Water

  • Ensure the machine is heated.
  • Place a cup under the steam wand.
  • Turn the steam knob to dispense hot water.
  • Turn the knob off when the desired quantity is reached.

6. Settings and Customization

6.1 Temperature Settings
