Installation Instructions
- Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse box controlling the outlet you intend to replace or install. Turn off the power to that circuit. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
- Remove Old Outlet (if applicable): Unscrew and carefully remove the old wallplate and outlet from the electrical box. Disconnect the wires, noting which wire was connected to which terminal.
- Prepare Wires: Strip approximately 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the wires if necessary. Ensure wires are straight and free of nicks.
- Wire Connections: Connect the wires to the new BESTTEN receptacle. This outlet supports both side wiring and quick back push-in wiring.
- Ground Wire (Green or Bare Copper): Connect to the green grounding screw.
- Neutral Wire (White): Connect to the silver terminal screws or use the back push-in holes for neutral.
- Hot Wire (Black): Connect to the brass terminal screws or use the back push-in holes for hot.

Note: For split receptacle applications, break off the tabs between the hot terminals to allow two-circuit conversion.

- Install Wallplate: Attach the decorator wallplate over the installed receptacle using the provided screws.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
- Test: Plug a device into the outlet to ensure it is functioning correctly.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: To clean the outlet and wallplate, ensure power is off at the circuit breaker. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the outlet for any signs of damage, such as cracks, discoloration, or loose connections. If any damage is observed, turn off power and have the outlet inspected and replaced by a qualified professional.
Troubleshooting
- No Power to Outlet:
- Check the circuit breaker or fuse box to ensure the circuit is on.
- Verify all wire connections are secure.
- Ensure the outlet is properly wired (hot, neutral, ground).
