The iOCHOW S1 Document Camera is a versatile and portable scanner designed for office, education, and various professional settings. 1. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your iOCHOW S1 Document Camera for first use.

1.1 Unpacking and Components

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure you have the document camera unit, the scanning mat, and the USB cable.

1.2 Connecting the Device

Connect the document camera to your computer using the provided USB cable. The device is designed for easy setup and simple disassembly.

1.3 Software Installation

The iOCHOW S1 Document Camera requires dedicated software for full functionality. The software is compatible only with Windows operating systems (Windows 7 and above). It is not compatible with Mac OS or Chromebook.

Install the software from the provided CD or download the latest version from the official iOCHOW website. After installation, ensure that all three Camera privacy setting switches are "On" in your Windows settings to allow the software to access the camera.

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Basic Scanning

Place the document or object you wish to scan on the scanning mat, ensuring it is within the camera's view. The software will automatically identify the scanning target and present a precise scan.

The camera can scan materials up to A3 size. Built-in LED lighting allows for use in dimly lit environments.

2.2 Automatic Continuous Shooting

The software features an automatic continuous shooting mode, eliminating the need to manually click the "shooting" button. This mode can be set for 3 or 5-second intervals, or an automatic setting that shoots when a new page is detected.

2.3 Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

The iOCHOW S1 includes powerful OCR functionality. It accurately recognizes text from scanned documents in multiple languages and can convert them into editable formats such as TXT, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF.

  • Edge Filling: Automatically fills broken edges of scanned pages.
  • Image Synthesis: Merges both sides of scanned ID photos or other documents.

2.5 Real-time Projection and Video Recording

The iOCHOW S1 can be used for real-time projection, making it ideal for presentations, teaching, and meetings. It also supports video recording to improve office efficiency and capture dynamic content.

After scanning, the software allows for immediate conversion and attachment of scanned files to an email (Microsoft Outlook required). You can also directly print scanned images or documents from the software interface.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and the body of the device. Avoid using liquid cleaners directly on the lens or electronic components.

  • Storage: When not in use, store the document camera in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

4. Troubleshooting

    • Ensure your operating system is Windows (Windows 7 or higher). The software is not compatible with Mac OS or Chromebook.

    • If installing from CD, and issues persist, download the latest software version directly from the official iOCHOW website.
    • Try connecting the USB cable to a different USB port on your computer.
  • Light Reflection on Glossy Surfaces:
    • The built-in LED lights or overhead room lighting may cause reflections on glossy documents or photos.
    • Try adjusting the position of the document camera or the document itself.
    • Consider using an alternative, indirect light source to illuminate the document, or scan in a well-lit room with diffused lighting.
  • Scanned Images are Skewed or Cropped Incorrectly:
    • Ensure the document is placed flat on the scanning mat and is within the designated scanning area.
    • Utilize the software's automatic correction and edge filling features to rectify minor misalignments.
