Operation
Indiglo Night-Light
Your Timex Navi XL watch is equipped with the Indiglo night-light feature for illumination in low-light conditions.
- Activation: Press and hold the crown firmly to activate the Indiglo night-light. The dial will illuminate for a few seconds.
- Note: Frequent use of the Indiglo feature may reduce battery life.
Water Resistance
This watch is water-resistant to 100 meters (10 ATM). This rating indicates suitability for various water activities, as detailed in the chart below. To maintain water resistance, ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water. Do not operate the crown or push buttons while the watch is wet or submerged.

Figure 4: Degree of Water Resistance for Timex Watches.
| Rating | Activity | Suitability |
|---|---|---|
| 30 Meters (3 ATM) | Rain Resistant | Withstands splashes and rain. Not suitable for submersion. |
| 50 Meters (5 ATM) | Light Swimming | Suitable for light swimming. Not for diving. |
| 100 Meters (10 ATM) | Snorkeling, Swimming, Poolside Diving | Suitable for snorkeling, swimming, and poolside diving. Not for high-impact water sports or scuba diving. |
| 200 Meters (20 ATM) | Recreational Scuba Diving | Suitable for recreational scuba diving. |
Note: Watches labeled water-resistant without a depth indicated can withstand splashes and rain, but should not be submerged. To maintain water resistance, do not press any buttons under water unless your watch is indicated as 200 meter water resistant.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
Your watch is powered by a Lithium Metal battery. When the watch stops running or the Indiglo light dims significantly, it indicates that the battery needs replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.
General Care
- Cleaning: Clean your watch regularly with a soft, damp cloth. For fabric straps, mild soap and water can be used, but ensure the watch head is protected from excessive moisture if not rated for submersion.
- Avoid Chemicals: Keep the watch away from solvents, detergents, perfumes, and cosmetic sprays, as these can damage the case, strap, or gaskets.
- Temperature Extremes: Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes, which can affect its accuracy and water resistance.
- Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields, as they can interfere with the quartz movement.
Troubleshooting
Watch Not Running
- Check Crown Position: Ensure the crown is fully pushed into position 1. If it is pulled out, the watch will not run.
- Battery: If the crown is correctly positioned and the watch is still not running, the battery may need replacement. Refer to the "Battery Replacement" section.
Time Inaccurate
- Reset Time: Re-set the time as described in the "Setting the Time" section.
- Environmental Factors: Exposure to strong magnetic fields or extreme temperatures can affect accuracy. Avoid such conditions.
- Battery Level: A low battery can sometimes cause irregular timekeeping before the watch completely stops. Consider battery replacement.
