• To protect against fire, electric shock, and personal injury, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.

• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

Setup

Follow these steps for the initial setup of your espresso machine:

1. Unpack the Machine: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Rinse Water Tank: Remove the water tank and rinse it thoroughly with fresh water.
3. Install AquaClean Filter: If using, install the AquaClean filter into the water tank as per the filter instructions. Fill the tank with fresh water and place it back into the machine.
4. Fill Bean Hopper: Open the lid of the bean hopper and fill it with fresh coffee beans.
5. Plug In: Plug the machine into a grounded wall outlet.
6. First Use Rinse Cycle: The machine will guide you through a first-use rinse cycle. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete this process, which primes the system and cleans internal circuits.

Operating Instructions

Your Philips 2200 Series machine makes it easy to brew your favorite coffee varieties.

Brewing Espresso, Coffee, and Cappuccino

• Select Your Drink: Use the intuitive touch display to select your desired coffee variety: Espresso, Coffee, or Cappuccino.
• My Coffee Choice Menu: Adjust the strength and quantity of your beverage using the 'My Coffee Choice' menu. You can choose from three different settings to suit your preferences. The Aroma Extract system intelligently strikes the optimum balance between brewing temperature (90-98°C) and aroma extraction.
• Brew: Place a cup under the dispensing spout and press the start button. The machine will automatically grind the beans and brew your coffee.

Using the LatteGo Milk System

• Attach LatteGo Carafe: Fill the LatteGo carafe with milk and attach it to the machine.
• Select Milk-Based Drink: Choose a milk-based drink like Cappuccino from the touch display.
• Enjoy: The LatteGo system will automatically froth and dispense milk directly into your cup, followed by the coffee.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your machine.

• Daily Cleaning: Empty and rinse the drip tray and coffee grounds container daily. The LatteGo milk system is also designed for quick rinsing under the tap.
• Brew Group Cleaning: The brew group should be rinsed under the tap weekly. Refer to the full manual for detailed instructions on removing and reinserting the brew group.
• AquaClean Filter: Replace the AquaClean filter when prompted by the machine. This filter helps prevent limescale buildup, reducing the need for descaling for up to 5000 cups.
• Descaling: Even with the AquaClean filter, occasional descaling may be necessary. The machine will indicate when descaling is required. Follow the on-screen instructions for the descaling procedure.
