4. Product Overview

5. Setup
5.1. Quick Setup via WPS
- Plug the Renkforce WS-WN575A3 into a power outlet near your existing Wi-Fi router.
- Wait for the Power LED to turn solid green.
- Press the WPS button on your existing Wi-Fi router.
- Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on the front of the Renkforce repeater.
- The Wi-Fi LED on the repeater will flash during the connection process and then turn solid green when successfully connected.
- Once connected, you can unplug the repeater and move it to a location between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone. Ensure the Wi-Fi LED remains solid green to confirm a good signal.
5.2. Setup via Web Interface
- Plug the Renkforce WS-WN575A3 into a power outlet.
- Connect your computer or mobile device to the repeater's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "Renkforce_XXXX"). The default SSID and password are usually found on a label on the device.
- Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (e.g., http://192.168.10.1) or the default web address (e.g., http://reapeter.net) into the address bar.
- Log in using the default username and password (usually "admin" for both).
- Follow the on-screen instructions of the setup wizard to select your existing Wi-Fi network and enter its password.
- You can choose to keep the same SSID for the extended network or create a new one.
- Save the settings and wait for the repeater to restart.
- Once restarted, your devices should be able to connect to the extended network.
6. Operating
After successful setup, the Renkforce WS-WN575A3 will automatically extend your Wi-Fi network. Devices within the extended range will connect to the repeater for improved signal strength and coverage.
6.1. LED Indicators
- Power LED: Solid green indicates the device is powered on.
- Wi-Fi LED: Solid green indicates a successful connection to the main router and active Wi-Fi signal. Flashing indicates data transmission or WPS pairing in progress.
- WPS LED: Flashing during WPS pairing, solid when WPS connection is established.
- WAN/LAN LED: Indicates activity on the WAN/LAN port.
- LAN LED: Indicates activity on the LAN port.
6.2. Wired Connection
The repeater features two LAN ports. You can connect wired devices such as smart TVs, gaming consoles, or desktop computers to these ports using an Ethernet cable to provide them with network access.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Renkforce support website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Placement: For best performance, place the repeater in an open area, away from obstructions like large metal objects, concrete walls, and other electronic devices that may cause interference.
8. Troubleshooting
8.1. No Power
- Ensure the repeater is securely plugged into a working power outlet.
- Check if the power switch (if present) is in the ON position.
8.2. Cannot Connect to the Repeater's Wi-Fi
- Verify you are selecting the correct Wi-Fi network (SSID) and entering the correct password.
- Try restarting the repeater by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
- Perform a factory reset if you have forgotten the login credentials or if the device is unresponsive. (See 8.5 Factory Reset)
8.3. Poor Signal or Slow Speed
- Relocate the repeater closer to your main router. The Wi-Fi LED should indicate a strong connection.
- Ensure there are no major obstructions between the repeater and your router, or between the repeater and your devices.
- Check for interference from other electronic devices (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).
- Update the firmware of the repeater and your main router.
8.4. Web Interface Not Accessible
- Ensure your device is connected to the repeater's Wi-Fi network or via an Ethernet cable.
- Verify the IP address or web address entered in the browser is correct.
- Clear your browser's cache and cookies, or try a different browser.
8.5. Factory Reset
To perform a factory reset, locate the small reset button (often recessed) on the device (refer to Figure 4.4). With the device powered on, use a paperclip or similar pointed object to press and hold the reset button for approximately 5-10 seconds until the LEDs flash. The device will restart with factory default settings.
