1. Product Overview
The GOCOM G600 FRS Two Way Radio is designed for reliable long-range communication, featuring a durable build, rechargeable batteries, and essential functions for various outdoor and indoor activities.

2. Setup
Battery Installation and Charging
The GOCOM G600 radios come with rechargeable Ni-MH AA batteries. For initial use, it is recommended to charge the batteries for one day to activate them. Ensure the radio is turned off before charging.

- Using the Charging Base: Place the walkie talkie into the charging base. The battery indicator on the LCD will show charging status.
- Direct USB Charging: Connect the micro-USB cable directly to the radio's USB port for individual charging.
- Battery Activation: If the intercom is new, charge the battery for approximately 24 hours to activate the NiMH battery.

3. Operating Instructions
Basic Controls and Display
Familiarize yourself with the buttons and display screen for optimal use.

Channel Selection and Privacy Codes
The G600 features 22 FRS channels and 121 CTCSS privacy codes, offering up to 2,662 combinations to minimize interference.
- Press the MENU button once to enter channel selection mode. Use the UP/DOWN arrows to change the channel.
- Press MENU again to select the privacy code. Use UP/DOWN arrows to adjust.
- Press the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button to confirm your selection.

VOX (Voice Operated Transmission) Function
The VOX function allows for hands-free operation with 3 sensitivity levels. This is ideal for activities like climbing or driving.

NOAA Weather Scan + Alert
Stay informed about severe weather conditions with the built-in NOAA Weather Scan and Alert feature.

- The radio automatically scans 11 weather band channels and locks onto the strongest signal.
- Weather Alert will sound an alarm and display on the LCD when a 1050Hz weather alarm is received.

Talking Range
The effective talking range varies based on terrain and environmental factors.

4. Maintenance
Battery Capacity Maintenance
To ensure optimal battery life, charge the batteries every three months if the radio is not in regular use.

IPX4 Water Resistance
The GOCOM G600 features an IPX4 water-resistant keypad, allowing for use in rainy or foggy conditions.

5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your GOCOM G600, consider the following common problems and solutions:
- Radio not turning on: Ensure batteries are properly installed and charged.
- Poor audio quality/choppy transmission: Check for obstacles between radios (mountains, buildings). Ensure both radios are on the same channel and privacy code. Adjust volume settings.
