Installation Instructions
This ceiling fan offers three mounting options: closemount, standard (with included 4-inch downrod), or angled (angle bracket sold separately for sloped ceilings). Choose the appropriate method for your ceiling type and desired fan height.
1. Prepare for Installation
- Turn off power at the main circuit breaker.
- Ensure the mounting location is structurally sound and can support the fan.
- Unpack all components and lay them out for easy access.
2. Mount the Bracket and Downrod (if applicable)
Follow the detailed instructions provided in the separate installation guide for mounting the ceiling bracket and assembling the downrod (for standard or angled mounting). For closemount installation, refer to the specific steps for direct ceiling attachment.

3. Wire the Fan
- Connect the fan's electrical wires to the household wiring according to the wiring diagram in your separate installation guide. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Proper grounding is essential for safety.
4. Attach Fan Blades

6. Final Checks
- Ensure all screws are tightened and connections are secure.
- Restore power at the circuit breaker.
Operating Instructions
Your Prominence Home Marston ceiling fan is controlled by pull chains for both fan speed and light operation.
Fan Speed Control
- Locate the pull chain for the fan speed (typically shorter or with a fan icon).
- Pull the chain repeatedly to cycle through the three available speeds: High, Medium, Low, and Off.
Light Control
- Locate the pull chain for the light (typically longer or with a light bulb icon).
- Pull the chain to turn the light On or Off.
- The included LED bulbs are dimmable (20% to 100%) if connected to a compatible dimmer switch (not included).
Reversible Motor Function
The fan features a reversible motor for year-round comfort. A switch on the fan's motor housing controls the direction of blade rotation.
- Summer Mode (Counter-clockwise rotation): Pushes air downwards, creating a cooling breeze.
- Winter Mode (Clockwise rotation): Draws air upwards, circulating warm air trapped near the ceiling.
- To change direction, turn off the fan and wait for the blades to stop completely. Locate the slide switch on the motor housing and move it to the desired position. Turn the fan back on.

Image: An illustration demonstrating the reversible motor function. In winter, the fan circulates warm air upwards (clockwise rotation). In summer, it creates a cooling downdraft (counter-clockwise rotation).
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the fan blades and motor housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Light Bulb Replacement: Ensure power is off before replacing bulbs. Use E26 / B10 LED bulbs as specified.
- Tighten Fasteners: Check all screws and fasteners annually to ensure they are secure.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your ceiling fan, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan does not start | No power to the fan; loose wiring; motor switch in wrong position. | Check circuit breaker; ensure all wiring connections are secure; verify the motor's directional switch is fully engaged. |
| Fan wobbles | Loose blades; unbalanced blades; loose mounting hardware. | Tighten all blade screws; ensure blades are balanced (balancing kit may be required); check mounting bracket and downrod connections. |
| Light does not work | Bulb burned out; loose wiring in light kit; pull chain switch faulty. | Replace bulbs; check light kit wiring connections; ensure pull chain is fully engaged. |
| Noisy operation | Loose screws; motor not seated correctly; blades hitting an obstruction. | Tighten all screws; ensure fan is securely mounted; check for any obstructions near the blades. |
